i've been upgrading my tattoo setup/gear for the past year, and one thing i always am lookin for are good power units out there... besides tattoo machines, etc..
anywho, while shopping around, i saw this power unit... the cosmetics got me of course, the cool led blue light... lol. most machines out there have the digital red.. i just like blue more, lol. but that's not why i bought it... lol
i actually liked the fact that you can plug in both shader/liner in and when you're done lining your tattoo, you can pick up your shader and start shading w/ a flip of the switch on the machine. it just helps save time for me when i'm inking.. i can set up both my liner and shader and tune them where i want them, and like i said, when done lining just pick up my shader and go... whereas w/ other machines, you'd take your clip cord off your liner, put it to your shader, apply the rubberbands and tune it up and then start... now that process doesn't take too much time either... but what's easier then just flipping the switch and being all set to go on the client and starting...
most clients i found don't like waitin that extra time for that switch up/tuning since you could be spending it on inking..
i bought this machine cuase i liked the fact i could work both machines/set up both and use them w/ flippin the switch... it saves time for me. i like this machine alot.. out of the other units i have used, which incl: power units that have the banana plugs, 10 turn knob (non-dual)
this machine to me is the best... another reason i say that, i've noticed on pieces that are gonna have me inking for 6 hrs straight... this machine does not overheat like some other 10 turn knobs or non-dual machines do...(mostly the red led lit ones). i've used some of those non-dual ones, and i'll ink for maybe 2 1/2 hours and that machine will be so hot, i can't hardly touch it to put it away. where as this unit, like i said, i could be inking for 6-8 hrs straight, while it might be a lil warm, it won't be too hot to touch like i have experienced w/ the other machines... so this is a good machine to use if you're going to be doing long hours of tattooing.
the only downside to this machine compared to other units is that most places that sell it do not choose to incl: the foot switch and 2 clip cords to come w/ it. some sites do incl. at least 1 foot switch and 1 clip cord, but most sites don't incl. it at all.. but it doesn't cost that much to buy 2 clip cords and 1 foot switch if you do not already have them.. you'll pay about $45 for all 3 items..
so if you're out there and you want this machine, make sure you have at least 1 foot switch and 2 clip cords for it.. 1 for liner and 1 for shader.. you can run it w/ 1 clip cord, but like i said above, you'll be switching that clip cord to your other machine when you finish lining... so if you don't want to deal w/ that, then buy 2 clip cords.
this power unit will not disappoint... def worth the $$. you won't want to go back to whatever other unit you've been using after you use this unit.
