(More customer reviews)I thought my washing machine was done for...the tell tale symptom that you need this product: agitator can be held in place by hand (shouldn't be able to hold onto it), it slips during wash cycles (makes a friction sound like when you pull those plastic tie binds on children's toys...), and eventually cannot turn at all...and you have to manually turn it to finish your wash....these were incredibly cheap, my husband fixed it within 15 minutes with no instructions (but they are available on the web...on site called Dave's Appliance gives step by step instructions that were good and free) Washer is good as ever after replacing these...Would have cost ten times as much just to have the problem diagnosed by a repairman. You don't need to replace the cap with these either...just buy the lone dogs.

These are the little plastic cams that allow the top of your agitator to spin freely in one direction but keep it from spinning the opposite direction, giving you a "racheting" effect. part number 80040
