I have owned the Swisher 44-inch Trail mower for 3 years and have used it in an offset position to have a total cutting width of 92 inches for my 6 acres of rough new lawn and have found it incredibly tough and reliabile. The rear discharge works great to capture discharge from my 48in Ariens and later my 48in John Deere and then mulches it. The quality is excellent and the performance is more than adequate for the size and condition of my property. The setup that I use has impressed my professional lawn care neighbor with the capacity for cutting.

Swisher T2066 66-Inch 20 HP Trailmower Review

(More customer reviews)I reviewed all of the available pull behind mowers, and I chose the swisher because it was the widest with the most HP that I could find. Also, I was close to buying the Agri, but those folks couldn't tell me where to buy one, as Sears was out of stock on them.
For the money, this unit is rugged. I did, however, break the drive belt the first day out on it. Probably user error, as I had the tension too tight on that belt.
I rate it a 4 out of 5 because it is a bit loud when it bounces around, if you dont have a real smooth lawn. But I am putting it to the extreme, cutting a large area (4 acres) with various slopes, using a Polaris 425cc ATV.

(More customer reviews)Disappointed in performance, is under powered for most tasks. The machine is difficult to pull behind ATV and get close enough to fence to do and adequate job and then is easily bogged down by grass. The recoil action increases the difficulty in doing a nice job of mowing.The postmaster does have limited application along ditches but again you must move very slowly to allow machine to keep running this can be extremely difficult even in the lowest gear on an ATV. I have owned the postmaster for two years but after initial trial period rarely use the machine. Very disappointed.

(More customer reviews)Was not hard to mount and had several adapter options. I have installed and uninstalled bucket several times 3 minutes. It takes about 1hr for the 1st Mounting kit install and about 5 minutes to uninstall and reinstall with quick pins in place (comes with kit)

Good Points-
1)easy to attach to tractor- just a hitch pin & a few bolts, on or off in a few minutes. MUCH quicker than a bush hog
2)powerful- really eats up woody brushy like multiflora rose quite nicely.
3)separate from propulsion- when dealing with heavy growth, you can throttle down to a crawl while leaving the mower's engine at full power to knock down overgrowth
Bad Points-
1)belt trouble- still using orginal belt but it gets off pulley for no apparent reason, have to do contortions under a hot engine to replace it. finally I just leave cover off to save wrenching time.
2)grass- it is a rough cut mower, it won't leave a smooth finish but grass seems to be more able to choke & stall it than brush.
3)hard to pull start- It was tight when new, better now but still takes a good hard pull to start- I wish I got the electric start model, more convenient to restart after a stall.
4)noisy- between tractor & mower, wear ear protection
maintanence- in three years, I've had to have main bearing replaced (immediate failure) and idler pulley-both under service contract. 1 flat tire. Motor has done fine, only changed oil & air filter, also starter rope broke this spring.
overall, I have got a lot of use on this on 23 acres, compared with a tractor mounted bush hog, it is a good value for the money.

Swisher UTV Universal Receiver Mounting Kit 10260 Review

It could be better but thats hard to do and be "universal" too. with a few modifications for stability it will be great. I've installed the front loader bucket with it and there is some "wobble" as mentioned by others, but in all fairness it wasn't meant to be a full sized front loader, it's an accessory for an atv.
