(More customer reviews)Fun Fun Fun!! Speedy delivery, arrived within 2 days of placing the order..I couldn't wait to try out this darn cute little machine! Purchased the sugar for $7 and 200 cones for $3 (great bargain) at Zurcher's, a local party store. My first 2 attempts resulted in a small amount of candy. But by the 3rd try I mastered it and produced huge and fluffy perfect balls of cotton candy!! Instead of swirling the cone around the bowl try grabbing the webbing at the top and then twirl it around the cone. That worked well for me!
Now for the negatives, the cotton candy does not stay fluffy so make sure you eat it right away or they shrink to half the size. The machine does jump around quit a bit after you add the sugar. Not sure why but it is a bit annoying to have to hold on to the machine or wedge it against a heavy object to keep it in place. While clean up is a breeze removing the extractor head is a struggle. It takes my strong hubby to remove it!! And lastly, while wiping around the heating element I sliced my finger on the metal edging..Ouch!!
Other than that I am excited to try this out at our next family party which I'm sure will be a big hit with the kiddies and also the adults!!

This kit includes replacement paper cones for use with your machine, and 4 small packets of floss (colored and flavored sugar for use in making cotton candy).
I'm sure this is a fine set, but $20+ is the wrong price. Something close to $5 is the right price.
If you've seen this kit and the small, toy machine amount of floss that it comes with, you will laugh out loud when you see that you can buy 52oz of floss for under $4.00 right here on Amazon by searching for this item:

(More customer reviews)My cotton candy maker arrived 6 days ago and I've used it every day since.
I heated it up for about 8 minutes before adding the sugar/candy, and the floss appeared about a minute after that. Since there were a lot of kids lined up to test the results, the two plastic cones that come with it weren't nearly enough to go around so we used thin 12" long wooden dowel rods which you can get at a craft store for about 5 cents each.
Before you make your first batch, you may want to watch some clips on making cotton candy on youtube. There is a certain technique to it but once you get the hang of it it's very easy.
We had it running, on and off, for about an hour as we tried different flavors and candies. The motor kept going strong the whole time. Make sure it's on a stable surface because the kids will want to lean in as far as they can to watch it.
It works with both hard candy and the sugar cotton candy mixes like Flossine. We found that it doesn't work as well with the hard candy that's typically pretty sticky, like Jolly Ranchers. The manufacturer also recommends not using round hard candy, like sour balls.
Clean up is a cinch. The metal spinner part and the plastic bowl come off, then you just soak them in hot water for a few minutes and the sugar dissolves.
Definitely the most fun appliance I've ever owned!

(More customer reviews)Having had a passion for cotton candy since I think birth, I was goofing around one day and came across this machine, and bought it. It was super easy to put together, good thing cuz the instruction sheet is a rough picture (just use the hex head screws on the bottom, the round heads for the trays, put a washer on everything. Long bolts for wheels, short bolts on front legs 3 screws hold the dome on.). No tools required, they give you everything. Perfect, no parts left over... always a good thing! I plugged the thing in and turned it on empty and everything spun centered. I then poured in the sugar they give me, and turned it back on. Within 2-3 seconds here came the cotton candy and within 20 seconds my wife was gobbling hers down. The machine also came with cones and 2 flavors of sugar so your all set to play right away. Cleanup is super easy too! The bowl is coated so the sugar line falls right off and wipes right out, that's all there is to it, other than run all the sugar out of the spinner.
This machine will be allot of fun for many years! It came with an extra set of brushes for the motor, and another set of fuses too. I missed Halloween this year but next year I will start a new tradition for the kids. One down thing is making cotton candy smokes up the house a little, but it's happy sweet smoke, and although you can see it, it smells nice in here.

(More customer reviews)I bought this machine but was a bit weary as I had purchaced the smaller ones for sale which were very very disappointing. The small ones basically just spit the melted sugar all over the place and it was more like shards of glass then cotton. This one on the other had made floss like a champ and a lot of it very quickly! I was very impressed. Clean up was easy and quick as you can break the entire machine/head down. I'd say the quality of the floss is just like the cotton candy you get from the fairs/carnivals/circuses (very soft and fine) and if you like cotton candy and can afford it, I highly suggest you pick one up. This machine is supposed to be a beginner/enter level machine but it made more cotton candy faster then I could bag which is awesome! I wonder how much the high output ones produce. The only thing I could find wrong with this product is that the power cord for the unit is some what short at about only 4-5 feet which can be annoying when you try to stretch it outside. You can always use an extension cord though but it will have to be a fairly thick one for saftey. Over all, I'd have to say this machine has exceded all of my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone which can afford it.

(More customer reviews)I'm totaly disapointed with this machine. It throws the unmelted sugar all over the kitchen, then the half melted sugar shoots out and sticks to the bowl. When it finaly gets hot enough to make cotton candy, there isn't much sugar left to make the cotton candy. If you add more sugar at this point, the shooting/spraying/throwing process starts all over! Also, make sure that you hold on to the machine while it is running. If you dont, the vibration is so bad that the machine will "walk" itself right off the table or counter.
