(More customer reviews)I wanted a bobbin winder for a while and finally broke down and bought one. The "Better Bobbin" looked interesting because it had an AC plug as well as a battery option (great for portability). The box said it could handle both regular and large spools and could be used right from the sewing machine. Sounded good to me. I often wonder if the designers and/or engineers actually use the products they make. I followed the instructions exactly, however, small spools of thread will fly off of the spindle about 1/4 through the winding process (the spindle is too short). Large spools are more stable when used in the handy,telescoping stand. The tension disc needs refining, as it does not stay consistent after adjusting; it is just too cheap. The lever, which is supposed to stop the machine after the bobbin is filled, did not work at all and I had to manually shut it off by flipping the switch from battery to AC. I was very disappointed. It really became more work than it was worth. I will return this model and try another brand. If I don't have any luck, I'll be back to the old way - - just sit at my machine and restock bobbins in one fell swoop! When will sewing machines be redesigned to eliminate this hassle???!!!!
