(More customer reviews)I impulse bought this bank at another retailer on clearance for 80% off. I still over paid for this piece of junk. You have to put one coin in at a time and even then it gets jammed trying to roll down. You end up putting a coin in and smashing it against something to get it to work. I don't know if the counter works right or not because I only put 8 quarters in before I gave up trying to use this. The holes look too big and I wouldn't be surprised if the coin sorter didn't work at all. Don't buy this!

(More customer reviews)This is the 2nd digital coin jar I have purchased. I originally bought the E&B one for my husband as a birthday gift, and after just over a month of use it stopped working. He was super disappointed because he really enjoyed watching his savings grow, so I decided to get him another one. I assumed that I could trust a Sharper Image product, so I bought this one despite never having been reviewed.
First off, it only displays your coin count as you add money. We liked the other one because you could always look and see how much you've saved so far.
Second, it registered a dime as a penny.
Third, the add and subtract buttons do not work.
I'm returning this product on Monday.

(More customer reviews)I swipe this off my brother cuz he didn't want it so it wasn't really swiping. But it's a really nifty coin counter and the audible total is the best part. Other electronic coin counters I had I either had to pop in a penny or something to see the current balance. But with this one I just push the button on the front and I get the total amount. Wish I had more of these really.

(More customer reviews)Since me and my husband stash coins in one jar and it was getting hard to dig up the coins I need, I'd like to keep the pennies sorted out (they seem to pile up faster than the other denominations), I saw this and thought it would be nice to organize coins and keep track of the amounts too.
I received it in good shape, packaged well in a box - I stuffed batteries in it and proceeded to put some coins in it.
The digital counter was correct for around 90% of the time, although some coins seem to register a different amount when I put them in the slot. Another thing is, the pennies and the dimes tend to mess up with each other, as I see some stray pennies falling into the dime slot, and vice versa. Add to the fact that the pennies tend to get stuck more frequently than the other denominations.
Another thing is that they don't have an option to manually increase the amount. I was getting tired of putting in my old pile of pennies one by one into the slot, I was thinking of just putting them in by batches through the bottom slot and adjust the digital counter to the value it has increased by. No can do. You can only DECREASE but not increase. So I had to spend half an hour stuffing pennies and occasionally correcting the ones that fell into the incorrect slot.
Since I didn't really care much about the correct counting of amounts, I would say it is a satisfactory purchase, but I think there could be better coin sorters in the world.
