(More customer reviews)I had previously bought a smaller version of this mat for showering and loved it so much I yearned for one that would cover my entire tub bottom. I have a standard sized 'plastic' shower/tub unit and there is too much give in its bottom to suit me (feels like it might crack), so I bought the smaller mat to give me a good solid place to stand while I shower. I've really enjoyed the slip free and luxurious feel of the teak and it dries beautifully.
I only had two issues with the smaller mat. 1) I wanted to be able to move around more in the shower without stepping off the edge, and 2) I had to be careful not to use products like bath oil as they made the tub floor slippery, which could allow the small mat to slide.
This mat covers the entire floor of my tub--in fact it's actually a little too wide so I had to sand down the long edges about 1/4" on each side. But having done that, it fits perfectly and I don't have to worry about slippage. I had to replace my drain cap with one that needs less clearance since although this mat sat above the original one (the mat has small rubber feet on the underside that elevate it a small amount) it pressed on the cap just enough to decrease tub drainage somewhat during my shower. With the new cap, that's not a problem.
I love both the look and feel of this mat. It has a spa-like feel under my feet, is not slippery when wet and is very sturdy. It is well made, beautifully finished and doesn't mind repeated wetting. I'm moving my original mat to my deck door since the small rubber feet will keep it up off the deck flooring just enough for both to dry following rain storms. I highly recommend this mat.
