(More customer reviews)Just received this today and sharpened 4 chains tonight - glad to see it is made in Italy instead of across the other ocean - a quality product that will save me tons on saw shop sharpening and I don't have to wait a week to get my chains back - one suggestion is to buy an extra stone to be used for grinding the depth (this stone will be shaped flat and always used for the flat grind) - the owners manual is on the Oregon Chain website if you want to read all about it before buying the grinder.

This compact grinder is a great alternative to full sized bench grinders. Although it doesn't have the size and power to grind through piles of chain a day, it does an excellent job of sharpening chains for the casual user. It comes with one 3/16" grinding wheel for sharpening standard 3/8" pitch chains and .404" pitch chains. It also comes with a wheel-dressing brick, and a template for pitch, depth-gauge setting, and wheel contour. (More customer reviews)Picked this up to have a secondary grinder to my outdated foley-belsaw. I like that it is extremely similar to the oregon, but alot cheaper in cost. I had to re-tap one screw hole that holds blade guard on due to overzealous paint application and also grind off an aluminum casting nipple that was still on the bottom of the main body that interfered with tilting the chain vise to its forward 10 degree tilt. Those are my only complaints. To me it is very easy to adjust to my different pitch chains. It even comes with 3 grinding wheels for the different pitch chains, more expensive grinders don't even do that! I did not like that it was not made in USA, but the almost all grinders are either made in china or italy. By the way, I got mine from Tractor Supply Company for $129.99 regular price. (More customer reviews)THE GRINDER WORKS VERY GOOD. I AM IMPRESSED WITH HOW FAST I CAN SHARPEN A CHAIN. IT TOOK A LITTLE THINKING AND COMMON SENSE TO FIGURE IT OUT, THE INSTRUCTION ARE USELESS. THE ONLY THING I DONT LIKE ABOUT THIS GRINDER IS IT DOESNT HAVE A BLADE LOK, SO YOU CAN HOLD THE SHAFT AND CHANGE THE BLADE. YOU HAVE TO TAKE ALL THE SAFTY SHEILDS OFF AND HOLD THE SHAFT WITH A PAIR OF PLIERS. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU NEED THE SAME BLADE ALL THE TIME, BUT I HAVE 2 HUSKY SAWS AND THEY ARE DIFFERENT SIZE. OVER ALL THIS IS WELL WORTH THE PRICE. I SPENT TWICE THIS AMOUNT IN THE PAST 5 YEARS HAVING THEM SHARPENED AT A LOCAL LAWNMOWER SHOP.
