(More customer reviews)Once you get this thing figured out it's not a bad toy, but don't expect your child to be able to figure it out. I'm a grown woman with a graduate degree and it took me five tries to get this right - by that time we'd used up so much of the materials that I'm now trying to find out how to order more and of course they don't give you a clue about that either..... IF you buy this toy, I'll clue you in about two things. Make sure the sticky tape is rolling the OPPOSITE direction from they way they tell you to roll it - the way they tell you to do it does NOT work, and also it doesn't work unless you cut a 1/4" border around the outside of the sticker when you're finshed. If you cut right to the edge, there's nothing sticking the picture to the sticky back paper and it all falls apart. Good luck! Make sure to open this toy on a stress-free day... :)

Alex Toys Sticker Factory Refill Review

(More customer reviews)Bought the refill b/c my kids begged to be able to make more stickers for themselves. It seems like it should be a fun toy-- and it is kind of. Children under 8 will need help getting the sticker roll aligned properly. Once the roll is in place, they need help placing their little pictures (that will become stickers) into it without wasting LOTS of sticker paper. My kids go through a roll (one refill pack) in one sitting-- but will play with it for about 1 hr. It would be nice if the refill pack were cheaper too.

(More customer reviews)This product is amazing, and it's bigger than you think it is. Turns smoothly, with no wrinkles or bubbles in the final product. It's perfect for velum or fiberous thin papers, which are always difficult to attach, (because glue shows through horribly.) I would have gladly paid twice as much for this product now that I've tried it. (If you're planning on making stickers out of regular cardstock to paper though, you might as well just use glue. If you're working with slightly see-through or plastic papers however, this is the perfect product for you.)

(More customer reviews)They xyron 150 is an incredibly useful little item. Run small items through it and they come out with an even application of clear adhesive on their back. Some people misinterpret the word "sticker" to mean that the machine also laminates the front of the object - it doesn't.
How does it work? The cartridges hold two parts - a sticky side and a clear plastic side. As you pull an item through the machine the two sides are pressed together, sandwiching your embellishment. Tear the tape off once your item is out and then rub over the plastic to transfer the adhesive, then pull the two layers apart and you can peel up your new sticker :)
While it's great for small diecuts and other flat embellishments it really shines with ribbon. Run a length of ribbon through and it can easily be stuck down to any card or scrabook page. The refill cartridges couldn't be easier to change, you can even swap them out halfway through to switch from a permanant to repositionable adhesive without damaging them or making a mess.
