(More customer reviews)I purchased the Fiskars Donna Dewberry Fabric Strip Cutter so I could cut my strips faster and safer. After practicing I was finally able to have success cutting strips of fabric. The cutter takes more pressure than one would think and I have to bear down in order for the cutter to actually go down far enough to cut the fabric.
On the plus side, it's very safe to use. It seems to clamp down on the fabric to hold it in place without slipping. Cutting blade is easily changed when needed. Lightweight but has non skid feet keeping it in place on the table.
I would have designed this differently. I would have made it heavier with a larger "bed" so there was more room on both sides of the cutter so the fabric would lay flatter on both sides. I would have somehow made the "bed" from the self healing material that cutting mats are made from and I would have made the cutting blade a little easier to press down on. It would be nice if it was longer than 12", such as 14" or 16".
All in all I will probably use this a lot but it simply cannot replace a rotary cutter and mat for longer strips and binding.Fiskars 01-000472 Donna Dewberry 45MM Rotary Strip Cutter
