(I'm not a kid! Don't tell anyone)
There were absolutely no reviews anywhere when I bought this item, so it was a bit of a gamble, though for $[...] you can't go wrong. I'm still amazed by that price. I've only had it for a day so I'll write this review under the assumption that the device doesn't break down tomorrow.
The radio is circular in shape and a bit bulky. If you tuck it in under a shelf it looks great, otherwise it looks a bit old fashioned. It's basically a small stereo.
This will play burned CD's. The audio is nice and clear, though slightly muted. But I doubt you'll be critical about that in your groggy early morning state. If you turn the volume up, it's perfect. There is only a very faint whir of the CD player, it's not distracting and you can't hear it at all over the music.
This device allows you to wake up to a buzzer, the radio (which is clear), or a CD. It's very simple to set. You cannot choose which track on the CD plays, unfortunately. It automatically plays track 1. There is a "Random" button and a "skip" button if you decide you want to lay back down and wake up to a different song. There is also no headphone jack. Those are probably the only two features that this device lacks. I can live without them. This is only for waking up to CD's and listening to the radio. If I want to listen to music during the day, I have my laptop.
Assuming that it doesn't break down over time, this is a great product.

Everything on the clock works exceptionaly, and the user interface is intuitive, making it difficult to misset the alarm and oversleep. However, the viewing angle on the LCD ends at about 20 degrees above horizontal making it completly worthless unless you put it on the floor or sleep standing up. It order to tell what time it is and not just see a complete wash of green I have to nearly get completly out of bed. Makes you long for the days when little pieces of plastic fell over revealing the next digit, and I wasn't even alive then! :D

Timex T276B Stereo Clock Radio (Nature and Bell Sounds, Auto-Set) Review

Timex T276B Stereo Clock Radio (Nature and Bell Sounds, Auto-Set)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Shopping for an alarm clock isn't really something I put a lot of research into. After all, the common denominator of them all is the most important: they wake you up on time. But, I had some important features I wanted and not only found them all in the Timex T276B, but more than I expected.
AUTO-SET. This thing is ready for use right out of the box. Plug it in and the time is already set. If you aren't in the EST time zone, you simply need to set it to your correct time zone. Furthermore, the clock automatically makes adjustments for Daylight Savings Time -- so no more worries about forgetting it. It also has a 99-year calendar, which is an added bonus.
BATTERY BACKUP. Like most alarm clocks, the T276B has a battery backup system that will save the time and your settings in the case of a power outage. Unfortunately, saving the time does you no good if the alarm never goes off. With 3 AA batteries, the T276B's alarm will still function without external power. This is a huge plus as far as I'm concerned.
DUAL ALARMS. I'm a little behind the times when it comes to dual alarm clocks, so this is a bonus for me that most people probably already have. What is really nice about the T276B, though, is that you can set each alarm to be active 7 days a week or specify whether it will be active on only weekdays or only weekends. So, no more having to remember to shut off one alarm and activate the other. Each alarm can be set to wake you up to the buzzer, radio or nature sounds.
GRADUAL WAKE-UP. If I were to narrow down my single biggest reason for shopping for a new alarm clock, it would be that I was tired of the sudden blaring of my clock while in the middle of deep sleep. The T276B's buzzer alarm gradually increases in volume, allowing you a more peaceful wake-up.
NATURE SOUNDS. Another feature I wanted in an alarm clock was the ability to fall asleep listening to nature sounds. The T276B has 3 options: bubbling stream, waves and forest. Unfortunately, the loops are very short and less soothing than I had hoped -- hence, only 4 stars for this product.
VARIABLE SLEEP VOLUME. Another neat thing about this product is that you can fall asleep to either the nature sounds or the radio at a variable "sleep volume", while maintaining a louder alarm volume.
All in all, this is a great product with some other great features that I don't have the room to point out.

The Timex T276B is a stereo clock radio with nature and bell sounds. The time and date are preset at the factory, so all you have to do is plug it in and the T276B will display the correct time. Adjust the preset time to any of seven different time zones with the touch of a button.
The T276B provides the conveniences of any modern alarm clock. Wake to three different bell sounds or AM/FM radio. Soothing nature sounds are provided for sleep function, or sleep to radio. The alarm can be set to a specific period of seven, five, or two days. Two alarm settings are available with battery backup for added confidence.
Additional features include an amber, backlit LCD display, a Hi/Lo clock dimmer, and a programmable sleep timer.

Sony iPod Clock Dock - White (ICFC1IPWHITE) Review

Sony iPod Clock Dock - White (ICFC1IPWHITE)

UPDATE: Sony has updated this clock radio with a new model - the ICF-C1PMK2 - which has even better AM reception, a brighter display, and official iPhone compatibility.
Several weeks ago, I upgraded to a new 160GB iPod Classic. At the same time, I bought an XtremeMac Luna clock radio, which had good reviews. Unfortunately, I found that the Luna is incompatible with the new iPods - it cannot wake them from deep sleep to play the alarm in the morning. A call to XtremeMac got nothing more than a note that my issue had been forwarded to their technical team.
Without any reviews, I took a chance, and ordered the Sony ICF-C1iP iPod clock radio, and am I glad I did! The Sony is fully compatible with my iPod Classic, and Sony includes instructions for using the iPhone as well. And, the sound quality and radio performance is remarkably better than the Luna or other iPod clock radios I've tested.
Sony has done a great job with the ICF-C1iP. It is an upright design, with most of the unit behind the iPod, in a slanted design with controls at the top. The iPod dock accepts universal adapters, but they aren't really needed as Sony has an adjustable supporting plate behind the iPod.
Unlike the Luna, which attempts to duplicate the iPod menus on its display, the Sony ICF-C1iP includes a remote control that lets you completely control the iPod menus as if you were manipulating the scroll wheel. Quite impressive.
Sound quality is very good for a clock radio - with full bass and even midtones. Sony includes a simulated mode they call "Mega XPand" that in my experience made the music sound muddied and under-sampled. Your mileage my vary.
The blue-backlit clock is located in the iPod dock area, and 3 brightness levels are available. In my experience, even the lowest setting is a bit too bright, but not enough to disturb me at night. I wish that the display were slightly larger, although the high contrast lets me see the time without my glasses from a reasonable distance.
And, unlike most iPod clock radios, the radio reception is outstanding - with an external AM antenna provided. The unit has dual alarms, which can be set to iPod (you can even select a wakeup volume), Radio, or Buzzer.
On the downside, the battery backup for the buzzer alarm and clock is a small expensive lithium battery. And, if your relying on just the buzzer to wake you up it's not very loud. You also have to be careful when changing the alarms to make sure that you don't accidentally turn the alarm off. But all of these are minor issues. However, these are all very minor issues that don't detract from the unit overall.
All in all, in my experience, this is the best iPod clock radio you can buy.

Put an end to annoying alarms and rise and shine to the music you love. The ICF-C1iP iPod(R) dock lets you set two separate alarms, with the option of waking to your iPod, the radio or a buzzer. Adjusting the time is automatic-all you have to do is choose your time zone and the dock does the rest. Built-in stereo speakers with MEGAXpand technology are loud and crisp, and a full-function remote control is included for changing tracks from across the room. An adjustable backstop fits all iPod models.

I don't care to be waken during a short power outage. 3. Difficult to set alarm in the Dark 4. Difficult to turn off in the dark. 5. No timer function. 6. too big
THe sound is really good. I hate to return it but I did.

Timex T309T Alarm Clock Radio with Nature Sounds (Titanium) Review

Timex T309T Alarm Clock Radio with Nature Sounds (Titanium)

This is a nice little item. It has good sound quality and three types of alarm: radio, buzzer, and nature sounds (there are 3 or 4 of these to choose from). You can specify whether an alarm setting works every day, only on weekdays, or only on weekends. Each alarm setting has its own radio station or nature sound (and volume) associated with it. It's got a nice big snooze button on top, which doubles as a display dimmer (my favorite feature).
I've come across just a couple disappointments in the week that I've had it.
- I thought I'd be able to create a radio-alarm setting for weekdays and another radio-alarm setting (same time, but different station) for weekends. Can't do it. You get one setting for each type of alarm.
- The radio preset buttons are arranged in a line across the front of the unit. The band setting button is in that line too, to its left. So if you want preset #1, you've got to punch the second button. Hitting the first button switches you to AM.
All in all, though, it's worth the [money].

The Timex T309TT triple-alarm clock radio lets you wake to your choice of AM/FM radio, buzzer, or any of four nature sounds (wind, brook, surf, and forest spring). Yes, you read correctly: the triple-alarm system lets you set three independent alarm times and wake sounds.Even if you're waking alone, you might want to set the device to trigger, say, soothing nature sounds at 7 a.m., a gentle radio station at 7:15, and a blaring buzzer at 7:30 just in case your heinie is still in the sack when it ought to be in the shower. Use the convenient 7-5-2 system to set your alarm(s) for the week, weekdays, or the weekend.Store up to 18 radio stations in memory, accessible through six one-touch tuning buttons. The radio offers drift-free PLL (phase-locked loop) digital tuning and displays station frequency and preset numbers.Time to crash? Drift into sleep to the radio or soothing nature sounds using the programmable sleep timer. The unit also offers a 99-year calendar (2000 to 2099) with year/month/day display and a sure-alarm battery backup system.

If you're just looking for a great alarm clock, this is it! The time automatically sets as soon as it's plugged in. The function buttons are easy to use & not too small. Thankfully, the clock is smaller than it appears in the photo, it's trim & neat. The sound is clear & strong. I like the added feature of weekday/weekend alarm, I never have to turn it off. My one concern was that I like to set my clock a few minutes fast, but no problem, not only could I manually adjust the time, but when I unplugged the clock it not only had the correct time when I replugged it, it also kept the time I had adjusted it to. After you hit the snooze button the alarm light blinks to let you know that the alarm is still active and will be going off again in 9 or 10 minutes. I was searching for an alarm clock for a while, this one makes me very happy.

What differentiates this alarm clock from the others? Quite a few things separate this clock from most of the pack. I have listed the noteworthy features of this clock below:
1. The battery backup assures you won't oversleep
2. There is a battery indicator so you know when to change the battery backup
3. You never need to reset the time when the power goes out. The clock is preset at the factor and has the correct time when you plug it in. You select from the following time zones (Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaskan, or Hawaiian)
4. You can set the clock for day light savings time and make leap year adjustments to keep the time and week on track
5. You can set the clock to have different times during the week and weekend all at one time
6. There is a dual alarm feature
7. There are many different options for what you will wake up to (Radio, Nature Sounds, or Buzzer)
8. You can adjust the illumination on the face if you like a dark room or a bright display
9. Four nature sounds (Ocean Surf, Birds, Brook, or Wind Chimes)
10. There is a timer that will turn off the nature sounds or radio in either 90, 60, 30 or 15 minutes so that you can fall asleep to sound
11. You can preset 18 radio stations
For the money, this is a nice alarm clock.

Every hour, this cool clock makes the vroom-vroom sounds (and sometimes the horn) of a different classic car. The back has informational blurbs on each car depicted. We bought this for my brother-in-law, who builds classic cars, but you don't have to be a car buff to LOVE THIS CLOCK! It's bigger and more beautiful than it looks in the picture. At that price, it's Grand Theft Auto. If you're looking for a great gift, buy two: one as a gift; one for yourself! Even though there's an on/off switch for the car sounds, it also has a light sensor, so it will NOT go off if the room is dark or if it's wrapped. I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

Sony ICFC180 AM/FM Clock Radio Review

Sony ICFC180 AM/FM Clock Radio
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife and I have been using the same clock radio for the past 20 years - It's a dual alarm Panasonic and it still works pretty well. Some of its features such as individual up/down alarm/time set for the minutes and hours are not even available on clocks today. And it has a 10 minute snooze - not nine minutes, another feature hard to find these days. But it's lacking in other areas such as no battery backup. So we decided to replace the old clock.
Some research was necessary. For the most part, only Timex, RCA and Sony have competitive products. My requirements were simple - AM/FM dual alarm, battery backup, 10 minute snooze, easy to read display, and not too bright. I did not need a CD or MP3 option. Here's why I bought the Sony ICFC180 and rate it so highly:
Form Factor and Buttons: This is not a large clock radio - it's about six inches square. The case is pretty much all white. Buttons are well spaced and nicely shaped. You can easily learn to use this clock in the dark or by feel alone.
Display: The backlit LCD displays not only the time, but both the alarm settings, each in its own quadrant. This is a great feature. The time is large enough to read from across the room although it could have been a bit larger. The alarm displays are smaller, but fine for viewing bedside. Viewing from different angles seems fine. It has two manual brightness levels and here Sony cheaped out a bit - an auto dimmer with sensor would have been nice. The high level is fine for the day and the low level is acceptable for the night, but who's going to move the tiny switch each day? I leave it on the low setting. I really like the room dark when I sleep and I would have preferred the low level to be a bit dimmer. The display is mostly green, with orange for the weekday alarms. The green is fine, but the orange is just a bit too bright. But again, it's acceptable.
Time Features: Auto time set - well not really. The auto time set feature prominently displayed on the box is a bit misleading. Unlike other clocks (such as from RCA) which can set the date and time and change daylight savings automatically, this clock is just set at the factory and uses a lithium battery to keep the time. If you happen to live on the east coast of the United States, then the time is correct when you first plug it in. Otherwise, you need to adjust the time zone. Since the clock doesn't know the date, daylight savings is also manual, but here at least Sony provided a single button to change the 1 hour offset. My only complaint is that the daylight savings button is on the top and could be accidentally pushed - the display does show an icon for the 1 hour offset, but it's really tiny. I would have made the daylight savings feature a toggle switch (not a push button) and put it on the back - you only use it twice a year.
Radio: Old style analog display and thumb wheel for tuning. Digital with presets would have been nice, but let's not forget, this clock only cost $25. The tuning wheel is stiff enough that it won't be accidentally changed when pickup up, moving, or just dusting the clock.
Alarm: Here's where this clock really shines. The box says it has two alarms, but in reality it has four individual alarms! The thinking by Sony is that two alarms are for the weekdays and two are for the weekends, but since the weekday/weekend feature is a manual push button, you can really use the alarms however you wish. My kids have Timex clock radios with a 7-5-2 feature which lets you determine if the alarm should be used for weekdays, weekends, or both. This is nice because it's automatic, but on the other hand you only get two alarms and have less flexibility. I think the Sony solution is excellent. The clock also makes it totally clear which alarms are active - orange background for weekdays, green background for weekends, and no display in the quadrant when the alarm is off. Setting the alarm time is also very easy with a separate twist knob for each displayed alarm. The time can be adjusted forward or backward one minute at a time. Holding forward or backward changes the minutes quickly and after a few seconds, switches to 10 minute increments. This is a much better solution than just increasing the speed as most other clocks do. In fact, the only other clock that works better is my old Panasonic which has separate forward and backward buttons for both the minutes and the hours. Regardless, this clock has excellent time set controls!
Snooze: What is it with 9 minute snooze alarms? My theory is that increments of 9 are much harder to add in your head and all that thinking wakes you up - but in reality I think it harks back to a limitation of the old mechanical alarm clocks. Anyway, I needed a 10 minute snooze and this clock has that. Plus, if you continue to press the snooze button (which is big and easy to find without looking), the snooze can be increased in 10 minute increments up to an hour - a nice feature. The clock even blinks the alarm set time after you press snooze to indicate you're beyond the original wake up time.
So that's about it. There are some other features (nap timer, alarm melodies, no power no problem), but I haven't really used these much. If you're looking for similar features and also need a CD player, Sony makes another Dream Machine alarm clock (ICF-CD843V), but that one costs $70 and looks like a weird space helmet. All in all, this is an excellent clock radio with well designed controls, tons of features, and a low price.

I have been very happy with the sound quality and performance of the 833. One note though, the speakers will buzz if you crank up the volume all the way. You would not believe how hard it is to find a decent alarm clock. All I wanted was a alarm clock that shut off automatically on the weekend but the Emerson Research smart set was the only 2\5\7 day setting alarm clock I liked. After buying two of those and having issues with both, one the radio would lose the station over time and not wake you up, two, a brand new one having a bad LED and poor radio reception. Emerson needs to check their quality and then maybe they will have a great product. Yes this Sony has a hard to read display because of the viewing angle but if you have a small table next to the bed it works just fine. The radio pulls in every station and sounds good and loud for the size of the device. The alarms are really easy to set all you do is turn the knob to the desired time. Plus all you have to do is hit one button to shut the alarms off for the weekend or have two new sets of alarms. This thing gives you up to four alarms. If it had a better display I would give it 5 stars.

The old clock radio finally died and my husband and I thought it would be nice to have a CD player in the bedroom to listen to audio books in bed now and then (yes, I know, but it depends on the book!!). We've found the sound quality on such an inexpensive item to be extremely good, it's easy to tune the radio in and we like the huge time display - I can even see it without my glasses at night!! So far, it's awakened us at our ridiculously early get up time during the week without fail. No complaints - very happy with this clock/radio/CD player.

I bought this to replace my old alarm clock. It has a sleek design that takes up very little space. It has two alarms and can be set to radio, beeps or songs and has an adjustable snooze setting. The built in radio works well and there's a sleep setting so that if you like to fall asleep to the radio you can have it automatically shut off after a certain amount of time.
It has an adjustable brightness level, but I found its default/highest level to be suitable. At that level it's bright enough to see in the dark, but not bright enough to keep me up. The alarm is easy to wake up to and gradually gets louder on the beep setting. It automatically set itself to the correct time and date as soon as I plugged it in, all I had to do is set the time zone. It has a DST feature that can be turned off or on.
The only feature lacking is the ability to customize the alarm for either weekdays, weekends or both. It's not a big deal, especially with two alarms but it would have been nice. Overall I'm very pleased with this alarm clock.

We received this noise machine from my mom and use it for white noise to help our infant sleep. She loves the wave sounds. The volume can turn up surprisingly loud. Clock is very easy to set. The only downside is that it goes through the batteries fairly quickly (about every 3-5 days when you have it on all night) and we don't have a power adapter for ours. Note: the product description says it takes 2 AAA batteries, but it actually requires 3.
