First, I should mention that I grew up running my dad's big Troy-Bilt forward rotating tine tiller. As a very young lad, I could handle the tiller with ease, and with only one hand on the handle. The tiller did all the work and needed very little human interaction. It served our family for 20 or 30 years. I have always been a great fan of Troy-Bilt tillers because of that experience, and that tiller will be a point of reference for this review.
Thinking the counter-rotating tine idea sounded like it would work well, I decided to try it in my garden. After a short time working with the new tiller, I decided that the "counter-rotating" should be changed to "counter-productive." I ran into two major drawbacks.
1) I found it almost impossible to keep the tiller headed in a straight line, even at a very shallow tilling depth. Because the tines work against the forward motion of the machine, any slight divot or furrow would send it off on a tangent, especially if the back end was hitting any hard dirt, causing the back end to bounce. Any time I would run onto an obstacle, such as a corn root from last year, the tiller wheels would dig in and the tines could not dig into or go past the root. I would have to lift the back end to get it to continue on. With a forward rotation, the tiller would just continue forward and perhaps lift itself over the root, but within a couple of passes it would chop it up, rather than getting stuck on it and sending the tiller on a curvy path. Even after a couple of passes, I found that I almost had to push the tiller to keep it moving in a forward direction.
2) I like to put organic material on the garden at the end of the season and till it in, such as the straw and manure from the chicken coop. With the CRT tines, the tines push this type of material forward and up rather than down and back, so soon the space between the shroud and the wheels is clogged, and the tires grab it as it is constantly pushed forward from the tines, so within about ten feet, the space between the frame and the wheels and the shroud and the wheels is clogged so tight with material that it won't hardly move, so I had to stop a couple times on every pass to unclog it.
Summary: This tiller is not meant for gardening. It took me at least four times as long to do anything with it than it should have, with inferior results. The inability to till in organic materials is a serious problem. The machine's inability to keep moving forward and in a straight line is very crippling to productivity. The counter rotating tines also seemed to transfer a lot more vibration to the operator. My hands were numb after running it for a while. I had no problem with the Honda motor or the power of the machine, which ran without a hitch (thus the two stars,) but it was just too hard to get anything done!
Thank goodness I bought it at Lowe's and they took it back!

I had talked myself into buying a small rear-tine tiller (my back cannot take the abuse from a large front-tine version) and then I saw this little gadget for ~$200 less. At first I didn't think there was anyway it would be up to the task, but after a fairly thorough literature and market review I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did.
It cut through the sod with no problems as well as a number of finger thick roots. It only bogged down briefly before it spit out a 1/4 of a brick that it dredged up from the soil.
Pros:
Extremely lightweight--I can carry it with one hand
Very maneuverable--should make cultivating an easy chore
Reasonable cost
4-cyle, no gas/oil to mix
Doesn't take up a lot of storage room
Fairly quiet
EASY ON THE BACK
Removeable tines--quick and easy cleaning
Cons:
Small tilling width--takes more time per square foot tillage
Fast idle on running tank dry--SAFETY ISSUE (more on this below)
I was allowing the tank to run dry while I finished the raking and planting. Suddenly the idle began to run up as the tank ran out; when it did the centrifugal clutch engaged and the tiller tried to take off. Admittedly it wouldn't have gone far because it ran out of gas almost immediately after I snagged the handle, but it is something to consider.
Bottom line: I would not want to do a large garden with it. Mine is 5' x 15' and took me about 3 hours to till, rake and plant. At the end of that time I was still in pretty decent shape, pleasantly tired, but not beat up.

Works beautifully. Easy to install and operate. Does a terrific job at what it is designed to do. The 8" bar does things like clearing heavy bushes/brush and trimming tree limbs with ease.
My only regret is that I waited way too long to buy this unit. I did a lot of this work over the years using small hand saws and heavy chain saws while standing on a ladder. This Pole saw makes the work a lot less tiring and definitely a lot safer.
Also note that Amazon.com has the absolute best price around for this Polesaw including Ebay which I use often.

My husband and I searched everywhere for a small rear tine tiller that I could handle better than the "huge" one we had. After researching and listening to salesmen, we chose this one. (He was very skeptical because he thinks bigger is better.) Anyway, after the garden dried out from the rains, he tried out the new Bronco. He complained to me that he had to push it through the garden. I just thought he was saying that because he wanted a larger one. (Keep in mind, our garden has been worked about 10 years and is now a mixture of lots of clay, and little topsoil, so it is still "thick" and hard.) I finally got to try the tiller out, and on the first pass, through the edge of the garden that had not been tilled as much, it went great. Once I got into the garden that had been worked over the previous years, I had to push the tiller. I also had to lift it up to keep it from getting stuck in the dirt. It would till down, but the tires are not big enough to pull it. Guess where it is now? Back at Lowe's. They were great holding to their guarantee that if it wasn't what we expected, we could return in within a certain time period. Now, we are on for a tiller with larger tires.
Faults for a female user: hard to transport unless you park it right next to where you use it, also have to move the tires to make them either pull when cranked only or move them again so you can push the tiller when it is not cranked, have to push it through a well "seasoned" garden and it is hard to do that, also have to hold up the handle to keep the tines from getting stuck
Pluses: cranks easy, fairly light-weight (but cannot use it one handed like on the commercials)

I purchased this trimmer after returning a Black and Decker that turned out to be defective. After being totally disgusted with the lack of quality in trimmers under $100, I started looking around to see what else was out there. I have a Ryobi click-link gas powered string trimmer and so this unit fits right on it. I decided to go for it. This unit is all metal (as in NO PLASTIC anywhere!) and has nice carbon steel blades. It easily cuts through 1/2 inch branches and will gnaw its way through 3/4 inch branches with minimum fuss. You can't stop it. I just trimmed 3 of my 12 foot tall Japanese maple trees and it never stalled once. I have it attached to a 31cc power head. The extra reach and swivel capability means I can easily reach the top of my trees from my ladder. The trimming job on those trees used to take hours with a long handled pruner. Now I can get it done in minutes. This tool is actually comparable to the Stihl hedge trimmer that sells for a lot more money. If you have a power head to put this tool to use, you can't go wrong. Other hedge trimmers in this price range aren't near the quality of this thing, and you don't need a cord to run it. If there is anything on the down side here, it would be the weight. It's a bit heavy to manuever for me so it would be very difficult for my wife to manage. This is no little ladies tool though so keep that in mind guys.

Arnold OEM-390-679 Snow Drift Cutter Kit Review

These do what they are meant to do. These help in high drift situations where your snow blower might usually just cut under a large drift. These help knock down the drift above the blower. Extremely easy to install, four carriage type bolts with nuts and lock washers. the only thing I would have preferred is if they were just nylock nuts instead of having a lock washer with it.
