(More customer reviews)I purchased this for my 12" Dell Latitude as an alternative to carrying a big bulky laptop bag (and I liked the fact that it is stylish). It's made of neoprene and has a removable divider that has openings for disks, cords, etc. It has a shoulder strap that is wide and doesn't cut into my shoulder, as well as two handles that also have a small amount of stretch and are very comfortable. I can fit the laptop with cords as well as a few folders, my laptop cooling pad and a book in the bag. It would stretch to accomodate more, I'm sure, but I'm trying to simplify my carrying load, not add to it. There is not a huge amount of padding, so if you're going somewhere that might cause it to be banged around I'm not sure how much protection it would be. But that is not my plan, so I'm happy. If you're looking for an alternative to the big laptop bags for a small laptop and you don't plan to go rugged with it, I'd recommend this.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Built NY sleeve and another sleeve simultaneuosly - you simply could not compare the two. The quality of the Built NY was by far superior in almost every way. The zipper is stronger and sturdier, the padding is thicker and nicer. The extra pockets on the outside provide for the little something extra to store all the cable mess and to top it all off it was large enough to fit my HP pavillion 17" snuggly and firmly enough that I felt that it was really protected and not just flopping around in a cover.

(More customer reviews)I bought this case at a Target store. It was marked down because it was very dirty, but it wiped clean with water and with no difficulty. The only thing I would suggest is to measure your machine before buying. It said "Singer" on the cardboard wrapping. I have a Singer, but it wouldn't fit until I removed my upper thread holders. I love it because it is easy to pick up and it holds my presser foot and accessories.

(More customer reviews)This is solid and attractive but the big surprise is that it's a cover only. It slips over the machine and you reach through the top to pull through the sewing machine's own handle. There's no base at all. This would be fine for giving your machine some protection when taking it to a class, but it wouldn't keep out dust in storage. Also, it fits so snugly (a good feature) on my Janome DC2010 that it's not practical to put even a thin plastic sewing machine cover under it for dust protection--plus that would block the handle and the dust could still get in from the open bottom. If you want this strictly for transporting your machine, the storage compartment that flips out is a nice feature.

Singer 611 Universal Carrying Case Review

(More customer reviews)I got this carry case per Amazon's recommendation to go with the Singer 6038 machine. While it's functional, it's very basic and doesn't allow the machine to be integrated into it like the case I have for my old White - you have to remove the machine from this case to use it. Also, the pedal for the machine I bought has to be shoved between the arm and the needle in order to get the case closed, which worries me. The fit is poor - it's a slightly protective dust cover and carrying case and not much else.
Now that I think about it, it's not even that comfortable to carry (and down it goes from 3 to 2 stars) - it was a poor engineer who decided to make the underside of the handle (you know, where all the weight presses on your fingers) a bunch of thin ribs of plastic. So instead of hanging on to a nice solid surface, you're gripping this things that's trying to bluntly slice your fingers into 1/8 inch strips. Sure, it's strong, but it's exceedingly uncomfortable to carry any distance. I'll have to wrap mine with some padded vinyl or somesuch.
In short, it does the job, but not especially well.

It has a lining in the inside so if its raining, you can make it from the car into whatever building with no worries. If your going to be traveling long distances, I recommend the rolling case, though. Added bonus: The compliments and inquiries I get about this case.

(More customer reviews)After reading reviews for other cases, referencing issues with flimsiness or such a big size the machine would bang around, I went with this case. And I'm very happy I did.
My new Brother CS6000, with the attachments, fits nicely into the case: set the machine in, poke the foot pedal and cords in, put the top on, snap it into place. The plastic and latches seem sturdy, and the whole package is not too heavy to carry around.
