(More customer reviews)My wife and I love this k-cup. We've tested all the extra bold dark roasts out there. In fact, we did blind taste tests and pitted Timothy's Midnight Magic vs. Green Mountain EB Dark Magic, Gloria Jeans EB Black Gold, Van Houtte's Eclipse EB, Green Mountain EB Espresso Blend, Green Mountain EB Sumatran Reserve, Timothy's EB Parisian Nights, Coffee People EB Organic, Coffee People Jet Fuel, Coffee People EB French Roast, Tully's EB French Roast and Tully's EB Italian Roast. Yes, we honestly tested them all. Many of the other contenders are fine coffees in their own right and without direct comparison to Midnight Magic, they'd be a fine k-cup. But when compared directly with Timothy's Midnight Magic, we found we chose it every time in blind taste tests. It amazed me when my wife picked it every single time. We *do* note that Coffee People's Jet Fuel tasted very similarly to Midnight Magic. All else being equal, we'd purchase which ever one is on sale: CP Jet Fuel or Timothy's Midnight Magic.
There is no way you'd be let down by this k-cup if you *like* extra bold, dark roasted coffee. It's just perfect!

(More customer reviews)I ordered Black Tiger by accident...I like the new(and economical)packaging of the Coffee People coffee, and meant to order the Donut Shop medium coffee in the "new box". When I tried Black tiger, I liked it.It's a bit strong, but not burned tasting.I add a little water sometimes to bring it to my taste. So I now have both Donut Shop and Black Tiger, and, love them both! And...I love my Keurig coffee maker(a Christmas gift for my husband and I from our daughter). A little bit of a luxury, but I have fresh cup of coffee every time!

Coffee People Organic K-Cups for Keurig Brewers (Pack of 50) Review

(More customer reviews)I have been a fan of Newman's Own Organic Extra Bold Fair Trade blend for quite a while now. It has become my "go-to" coffee when using my Keurig B70 coffee maker. However, I am always looking for something new and when Coffee People's Organic Extra Bold came out in Amazon's new frustration-free packaging I had to give it a try.
The first thing that I noticed after brewing a cup was the aroma. It smelled more like freshly ground and traditionally brewed coffee than any other K-cup that I have tried (and I have tried dozens) with a rich, heady aroma. The taste was full with medium-high acidity and a pleasing amount of "bite", as one would expect from a dark-roasted blend. A perfect cup for me when using the 7 1/4 oz. setting but I imagine that some will like the larger cup size as well. I think that this coffee is strong enough to deliver a rich cup even with 9 oz. of water. I also like the fact that it is a certified organic coffee.
As for the packing, Diedrich (who makes coffee under the Coffee People, Gloria Jean and Diedrich name) has worked with Amazon to reduce the amount of packaging needed for their K-cups. All 50 of the pods are in one, heavy-duty box with no additional packaging. I just ripped the top off and stuck the entire thing on my shelf. A nifty way to help reduce waste and a convenient way for me to buy my new go-to coffee!

(More customer reviews)I first learned of the Keurig system almost ten years ago. At that time, I worked for one of the largest marketers of the systems in our area. I had the chance to sample almost every brand and their different brews. Timothy's traditionally always made some of the best brews for the system.
I have left the company, but kept my brewer. I can still purchase anything I want at cost (if I drive the 30 miles to pick it up). I choose to use Amazon's subscription for ease of use. It is only a couple of bucks more than cost, and includes free shipping. No more trips for coffee, and sure I miss the old mates, but this so worth it.
The coffee is smooth and strong. I prefer a very strong cup of Joe. I typically make Americanos from my espresso machine (a 3 oz double shot diluted w/ 5 oz water). That is close to what this tastes like. I don't know about its acidity, but I can say that it is in line with my palate. No bitterness (like one famous brand). No creama, but really, what do you expect. This is not espresso, it is a strong brew made from Arabica. Really, just a quick quality cup of coffee.
I also order the decaf. It is just as good

Coffee People, Donut Shop K-Cups for Keurig Brewers (Pack of 50) Review

(More customer reviews)To cut to the chase, this produces a very good MEDIUM roast style cup of coffee...period. Some folks tend to compare all coffees to one another no matter what the bean is and how it's roasted. I do roast my own green beans (home roaster) when I brew a pot of coffee every morning and use the K-Cups when only a single cup is needed. If you don't like that 'in your face' dark roast, dense, heavy style of coffee in the morning (or any time for that matter) this is definitely the coffee for you. It's not bitter, a bit floral, with a true pure coffee taste. Does it match Dunkin Donuts style coffee in taste? I'd say YES to that when using the middle cup size setting on the Keurig brewer....which I use for folks that take milk in their cup, I use the larger cup setting because I drink my coffee black and like that taste profile. The new packaging is OK (you get 2 extra K-Cups for the $$) as long as you have the room in your kitchen to store the larger single box....as opposed to storing the two 24 cartridge boxes.
NOTE: The description of this coffee uses the words "Medium Extra Bold" in it's packaging as opposed to the two 24 boxes version which lead me to think there was now two DIFFERENT varieties of this Donut Shop coffee....so I ordered both (wanted 98/100 anyway) but it turns out that both were the same. Amazon should correct that description and take out 'Extra Bold' so they match each other.
