(More customer reviews)Recently purchased this grill to replace 2 George Foreman's that got very little use. The Biggest Loser is terrific! Not quite the same specs as advertised: The wattage is 1400w, not 1800w. The size is actually about 12"x12" with handle included in the measurement, the grill plates are about 9"x"9", the height (without handle) is 4" and the weight is about 5 lbs. All this makes for a smaller footprint on the counter and I like that. Another nice feature is the long drip tray that slides in on integrated glides so it can't slip out or be knocked out of place. The tray catches drips from both plates when the grill is in the open (flat) position. Great design.
Before the first use: Be sure to damp wipe the grill then heat for 15-20 minutes. This burns off any residual manufacturing oil--these oils give off smoke and an odor.
The machine is ready to grill on in just over two minutes (ready light comes on). This is because the heating coils are integrated in the grill plate and therefore heat far more quickly and evenly than removable plates. The nonstick surface is excellent. Just remember to treat it like seasoned cast iron. Grease ONLY with cooking oil--DO NOT USE pan sprays that contain a chemical which actually makes nonstick surfaces bubble and peel off.
When finished cooking, soak a few paper towels and lay them on the surface till the grill is cool and you're ready to clean up. I then put the grill in a DRY sink, run water BESIDE it, not on it, scrub with a dishwashing brush, rinse the brush, scrub again to remove any remaining food particles, then dry with a paper towel. The top is made of brushed stainless and is very easy to wipe clean.
So far I've grilled meat, chicken, paninis, stuffed tortillas, French toast and vegetables. Everything has been top notch. I would give this grill 6 stars if I could. BUY IT!! You'll love it.

(More customer reviews)I was looking for an ironing board cover that was pretty and functional. This is a great alternative to everything available at Target and Walmart, which was boring and ugly. It has a builtin pad and velcro straps for a very secure fit, though I didn't really need to use the straps, it fits well without them. The pattern is very pretty, the fabric good quality, my only complaint is the picture above(the pink/blue/white one) is not the one I was sent, and there were no color options indicated when ordering.

(More customer reviews)As a professional chef I run across all sorts of cookware and kitchen gadgets that are supposed to be the latest and greatest for the kitchen. However, this wok just so happens to be the next best thing, and I picked it up at my local Le Gourmet Chef in Hagerstown, MD.
This wok does the job of providing even heat throughout your cooking process. The surface is super slick but gives you a nice foundation for stir fry's, stock reduction, or working up Pho Noodle bowl recipes. Cleanup is a breeze, with paper towel no less. The nicest feature is the stay cool recycled stainless steel handle. Some of the key features are:

The deep rich browning created by this pan is uniform and flavorful. Don't let the competition sway you, cooking till black is not the new brown! So, if you are going green, get this cookware, it's certainly your next step! Simply put, the ultra smooth non-stick surface is smoother than glass; thus cooking requires little if no oil and clean up is a breeze with a simple rinse and wipe. I've been using this pan for several months now and can honesty say that it has stood the test of time even with my younger kids helping out at the stove. The finish is still in great condition without any pits, nicks or scrapes.
As long as you stay away from aerosol sprays you will have an enjoyable experience with this cookware or any cookware for that matter. If you must spray in your oil then I suggest you buy an oil mister because spraying from a can simply adds residue that ruins pans and takes away from the flavor of your food after buildup occurs.

Hamilton Beach 25450 Gourmet Panini Press Review

(More customer reviews)You can't give this machine a bad rating. This Hamilton Beach Panini Press does one thing and one thing only, but it does it very well. If you enjoy pressed/grilled sandwhiches you will love this machine. As I write this I'm eating a feta/olive/artichoke/roasted peppers on pita sandwhich hot off the panini press, and it's scrumptious. I actually bought this as a christmas gift for my mother, but I probably use it more than she does.
The machine looks good on the counter, and has a large, non stick service. It's not on a hinge so it's designed to accept even the thickest sandwhiches without squeezing all the filling out. You can even "lock" the lid down to apply constant pressure, or lock it up to maintain minimal pressure or to not make contact with the top at all. It's great for quesidillas as well. Ignore the user that says it takes too long to heat up, it takes only a couple of minutes, about the time a waffle maker would take to heat. Even cooking on the stove you need to take a few mins to heat the pan! Also ignore the comment that this machine burns the bread before heating the filling, I've never had such problems, although I do wish there was a temperature control for further versatillity. But my bread never burns... I find 2-6 min will brown the bread perfectly, from lightly browned to nice and crispy (depending on how you like it) without burning it at all. I've never burned anything on this machine. I even once used it to grill some chicken, and it did the job nicely, though it's not really designed for that.
The only down sides are that there are no frills. I've seen other models that come with nice recipe books, this one has just a few hastily thrown together recipe ideas in the instruction booklet. There's no temp control either, which is fine, but it would be nice to have some kind of control (it would be more convenient if you wanted to use it for alternative purposes. The machine gets very hot, but that's to be expected. There's no alternate "plates" or cooking surfaces for say a flat "griddle" style surface, so you'll have to settle for the striated grate style surface, which in all honestly is not a big deal at all.
This is a great machine, at a decent price. It could be better with a temp control, some extra features, and a better recipe book, but all-in-all, you can't complain. It does its job, and does it very well.
