They might have been suited for cotton, lycra, something like that, but denim would be too much for them. Granted, I was working with leather, but it was very light leather, not saddle leather or anything, just suede and some upholstery.

Thread chest, color chart, sample pack of twelve different stabilizers and Anita Good design CD were all nice extras too. Great for me, a beginning machine embroidery enthusiast. Thread chest is made of pressboard with a faux teak veneer, but well constructed (for those who find the box an important factor).

4 X-Large Spools of White Bobbin Thread. These are 60wt 2ply Filament Bobbin Thread. Each spool has 5000 meters of thread on it. This will last you a long long time and you do not need to worry about running out of Bobbin thread while Embroidering. Each spool is brand new and is individually shrink wrapped to prevent damage from dust. Polyester has little or no lint. Hence your machine will run longer between cleanings. This thread is very shiny appearance, thin, lightweight and yet extremely strong. Embroiders love this since it creates a soft backing, even on dense designs. Many machine quilters like using a filament poly thread in the bobbin. Due to it's slick surface, it works well with metallic threads and heavy cotton threads. The slickness of the filament poly thread does not snag or grab the top thread. The thread is heavier than your average all-purpose cotton/poly thread and makes threading the needle a little more difficult. Once in the machine it runs smoothly. It's a strong, good quality thread, and it takes dye very well. I'm happy with it and will return to Threadart to order more when I run out.

I have used DMC perle cotton for 30 years plus, and feel this thread is as nice if not better. It is a little more tightly twisted than the DMC, and glides through linen fabric with ease.
