(More customer reviews)I bought this after reading a review of vaporizers / humidifiers in Good Housekeeping magazine, http://www.goodhousekeeping.com/product-testing/reviews-tests/appliances-electronics/best-humidifiers. This Air O Swiss model is different than the one recommended by GH, but it is AWESOME.
It's a cold mist, so it's safe for kids / pets; I only need to fill it once a day; it is designed so that it won't grow mold or harbor germs / viruses; very fine mist & leaves no powdery residue. VERY EASY to USE! AWESOME!
BONUS -- much lower energy costs than other humidifiers / vaporizers AND much more effective.

The Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier 7145 is a high-quality ultrasonic humidifier featuring a premium titanium transducer surface, which uses adjustable high-frequency vibrations to turn water into a micro-fine mist, which is blown into the room to evaporate. Pros: looks great, doesn't need chemicals and won't make weird smells, quiet, acts as a small humidifier, really fun to watch
Cons: won't make nearly as much fog as chemical-based fog machines, needs a specific depth of water to work, shoots water droplets
This is excellent for decorating a coffee table or kitchen counter, but it's not suited for bigger displays.

Vicks Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier Review

I have two of these humidifiers.
Pros:
1. High mist output - very clearly visible. It's like a fog machine! 'WOW!'
2. Mist volume control - many mist levels
3. Large water tank (20 hours of operation)
4. Direction control
5. Comes with it's own filter - but if you use distilled water you won't need to use the filter.
It's not silent but it is NOT loud by any means. I can sleep uninterrupted with it. My older humidifier produces the same noise level but my older humidifier produces a different frequency which disturbs my sleep. The Vick's is far superior to my old one.
Cons:
Like any humidifiers - you must keep it clean.
You have to keep the sonic agitator clean and free of dust/lint. A small bit of lint will negatively impact it's ability to produce high levels of mist. You don't even have to see the lint or dust.
Keeping the agitator clean is easy, don't touch it with bare hands - I only have to use running tap water on the agitator and it's dust/link free and it works like new every time.

Haier HU335W Ultrasonic Cleaner Review

(More customer reviews)I read the 1st review of this item, and ordered the cleaner anyway, hoping for better results. Indeed my Haier machine works quite well. BUT...don't expect jewelry and coins to come out sparkling clean, like the pictures and the hype. Instead, think of the machine as a shortcut to a lot of scrubbing with a toothbrush. Earrings gunked up with hairspray were somewhat cleaner after a few cycles; but then after just a short scrub with a soft brush, they were as good as new! Same with diamond rings, etc. The cleaner helped greatly, but did not clean everything immaculately all by itself. The cleaner really gets into the nooks and crannies in watchbands, etc., but again, some follow-up is needed with a brush.
In my opinion, it is definately worth it's purchse price.

I was looking for something that would be more powerful that the "toys" that are for sale for under $30. I just do not feel that they have the overall horsepower and cleaning ability based upon prior experience. I found this one, and it is quite large and appears to be the most powerful cleaner in its class. I am extremely pleased with the purchase. Rings and watches come out looking literally brand new and fresh from the factory. The only downside is that it is clear that the instructions were not written by a native english writer, so the grammar leaves a bit to the imagination.
