(More customer reviews)I recently bought this to replace a Bissell Pro Heat 2X. I think my Bissel might have been a lemon, but I was unhappy ehough with it that I changed brands. I really like my new Royal. Very smooth, gets the carpet dryer than the Bissell did. I like the options for turning the soap and/or brushes off. My Royal's first job was a soapless clean to remove the chemical dumped in my living room by my Bissell. Talked to a vacuum sales rep after I bought it, he also says this is a fabulous machine, low failure rate. Fairly easy to clean- I do wish it had a place to keep the caps so I can let the tanks dry in the closet. I liked all the extra hand tools (one a rotating brush) on the Bissell, but overall this is a far better machine.

Bissell 1425A Little Green ProHeat Review

(More customer reviews)If you've read the majority of the reviews for this product you'll notice there is a consistent problem with the sprayer clogging and no longer working. Here's how to fix it. We originally bought the machine a year and a half ago and it quit spraying after only 2 uses. Bissell replaces it under warranty but the bad thing is that your "new" Little Green is only warranteed for the the rest of the time left on the original one you bought. Of course our replacement quit spraying as well until today when my husband figured out how to fix it. Get some liquid CLR Calcium Lime Rust Remover or Lime-Away product and pour straight into the clean water solution tank. Fill only to about 3/4 of an inch of the CLR in the tank, then turn on the Little Green and push the sprayer button. It will immediately begin spraying again. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then run the rest of the CLR through. Then run through a tank or two of clean water. The problem is the phosphates in your water that clog the sprayer line. This should get rid of the clogs. I would also follow the advice of running through some clean water before storing your Little Green. Other than the sprayer problem the Little Green is very effective at carpet stains and cleaning.

(More customer reviews)I bought a new Kirby last year and it does a great job. It has such powerful suction, you can see it almost lift the carpet off the floor. With the auto drive, it is very easy to push on the carpet. You can do it with one finger. It has an attachment for just about any cleaning job you want, including shampooing your carpets.
I guess my biggest complaint is that you need to take off the front part to attach and use the hose. That is really inconvenient when wanting to get at baseboards. You either finish up vacuuming, then change the hose attachment and go around to each room again and do the baseboards. Or you have to change it while in each room and back again.
My second complaint is the weight of the machine. It's heavy for a woman to carry up and down stairs, or to use cleaning the mattress.
If you don't mind the draw backs, this machine will clean like no other and should last a lifetime with few repairs.

Knowing that one of the most used space in our household is a carpeted family room, were we spend most of our time including our four legged loved ones. Unfortunately our dogs do not shower daily, which allows them to bring in the outside inside. Though we wash our dogs every 2-4 weeks the dirt they apply to our carpet requires cleaning every two to three weeks. We do not care to pay the expense for carpet cleaning services that often, so I and my wife do it ourselves. This is our third carpet cleaner over the past 6 years and hopefully one that will last the long haul. So far so good, easy to use, and durable to say the least. This machine is built to last. Performance is much better than the Harry Homeowner machines we purchased in the past, believe me they were not cheap. In comparison to a carpet cleaning company, this machine should pay for itself within four months at the current rate of usage. Highly recommended this product to those who will clean their carpets as often as we do. Worth the money!!!

(More customer reviews)I got mine at the Home Depot, I have mostly had the Regine Vac carpet cleaner but they stopped making them, and I have to tell you it is the best carpet cleaner I have ever purchased, I have rented the grocery store ones, and I have borrowed a Hoover but this one really cleaned my carpets, I live in Arizona, we have a dust problem that you have to be here to understand, BUT this machine (with the extra floor nozzles) does the carpets and Hard flood with ease, and the only time I can remember seeing the true colour of the carpet was when I had them professionaly cleaned, yes I am happy with my purchase, I would make one choice different, I wish it did a better job on the hard floors, it seems to me that the hard floor peoblems are a lot different then carpet problems. I hope you enjoy your purchase as much as I am enjoying mine.

Recently I bought an expensive sisal rug. Sisal cannot be cleaned with any water as it will shrink and distort the shape as well as discolor. I've got two big dogs and HOST has been a miracle worker on this sisal rug. From dog urine to dog vomit this stuff has cleaned it all with no trace of what had happened left behind and no damage to the sisal. I will always have a tub of HOST around for accidents!

(More customer reviews)I own 2 Bissel cleaners, 1 pro heat and the other is even older. I wanted to try one of these thinking I might buy one because my other 2 are getting some age on them and I have had to repair the oldest one. This unit does a very good job as long as you are cleaning out in the middle of a room (away from walls & ect.). The brush on it agitates back and forth so it will get both sides of the nap. It however does not get very close to edges and when you start cleaning it doesn't start putting out solution very close to the front so you have to have attatchments to get close to walls, stairways, large furniture that you may not want to move each time you clean ect. Also it is big which makes it more awkward for spot cleaning. I don't know if it really cleaned THAT much better than my pro heat (I bought it when they first came out a few years ago - it's not the newest model), but you don't have to stop and add water/clean the pickup tank nearly as often. Another drawback to this machine is that you have to mix the cleaning solution and the water. On the Bissels, you have seperate tanks and if you want to go all water to rinse a spot you just cleaned or go heavier on the cleaning solution for grimier areas, you can just turn a knob. Also in the commericals they would have you believe that the carpets will dry faster. I'm not sure if that is true.
Don't get me wrong, it is a very good cleaner, and it is built like a tank, I'm not sure it is worth almost $1000 ($800 more than the newer Bissel we have which also heats the water, or keeps it good and hot anyway).
We have 3 dogs and 1 clutsy teenage boy still at home, and they keep me busy cleaning carpets. If it really did THAT much better of a job than what I have, I would buy one. Or maybe if the price was a little more in line, at least $300 cheaper. I hope this helps.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this machine one year ago. I love how it cleans and it is easy to use. I have 2 dogs and a cat and it is great whhen the dog has an accident on my beige rugs. the only problem whhich I will address with Hoover is that after a few uses one of the latches on the recovery tank broke in half. My husband was able to repair that with Crazy glue. this forces me to be extra careful when closing that particular latch. This model I have has the clean water and detergent tank attached to one another. It states the detergent tank is NOT to be detached or removed form its postion. I used it this past week and the detergent solution holder fell off. Now I have "jimmy-rigged" the solution on onto the clean water tank with heavy tape. It works, but the problem is that a piece of plastic broke off the bottom and it has not sit correctly onto the machine to dispense the detergent in the way it is supposed to. Other than these two problems I love the machine. I know i could purchase a replacement tank but I feel the machine is too knew for this to happen

It took me about an hour to do our large living room and stairs, compared to three hours plus drying time for the steam cleaner. The results were almost (80-90%) as good. Want to add that you need a good vacuum. I tried this product some years ago and had poor results because my old vacuum just couldn't remove all of the powder.

When it arrived at my door I couldn't wait to get it out of the box and give it a try. I did take the time to read the manual based on advice from some other reviewers, but I was busy cleaning my carpet in no time. The water was so dirty- I had to save it to show my husband. Neither of us could believe how clean our carpets looked, almost brand new. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this cleaner is so amazing that I wanted to share my experience with everyone. Anyone with carpet in their home needs one of these. It's worth every penny.

(More customer reviews)I've cleaned a number of floors and auto interiors. No problems so far, no leaks, great suction. You have to remember this is NOT a commercial unit and must be treated as such. Be aware and careful handling both tanks, don't run it into walls and you should be fine. I can note that I cleaned one exceptionally filthy office floor carpet and had incredible results. I did have to use six tanks of cleaner using laundry detergent in the mix on a 12'X 12' room but the results were nothing short of dramatic. The machine pulled out what looked like mud water in the collection tank and after about the 4th pass it was relatively clear. This is not a quiet machine but that is not an issue with me, results are. It's about as heavy as a full size vacuum sweeper. The only cons that I can really note is that it is loud, and I wish the tanks were a bit larger in capacity. I can highly recommend this product with no hesitation and would purchase another if need be.

(More customer reviews)I recently purchased this upright Bissell cleaner after relying on my Bissell spot cleaner for 8 years. The problem that I had with the spot cleaner is that to really get into those tough stains, my back would pay the price for it later. The early models of Bissell spot cleaners didn't have SpotBot technology, so that meant getting on your hands and knees in order to get those really tough stains out. I've got a 16 month old puppy, and needless to say, I have had my share of straining my back to clean up after the little tyke. I read the reviews on some of the Bissell lightweight uprights, and since this model has a rotating brush, I decided to give it a try. I was conflicted between the SpotBot units and this one, but I decided to go for this upright because it can cover more carpet area at one go since it is an upright. There is absolutely no buyer's remorse here - the cleaner not only is very lightweight so as to not strain my back, it is easy to use and very powerful for such a light machine. The rotating brush is a huge help because it gets into those tough pet stains, and my carpet now looks like I don't even own a pet. Getting the unit ready for storage is easy too, because they have made the holding tank and spray nozzle very easy to remove and rinse out. Even if you don't have children or pets, this cleaner is great to just freshen up high traffic areas, and I can see myself using this to freshen up the house after dinner parties, getting rooms prepared for guests, etc. Also, the cleaning solutions that are available for purchase are concentrated - this means that you will pay for a reasonably sized bottle, but it takes very little cleansing solution to get the job done, so that a bottle of solution will last through many cleanings. And the biggest advantage is that you don't have to kill your back to get a stain out! :)

(More customer reviews)You will be amazed (and perhaps disgusted) to find out just how dirty your carpets really are after using this unit (even after vacuuming with a "high-end" vacuum cleaner). It REALLY pulls out the dirt. But make no mistake: this is no "miracle worker". If your carpets are soiled with pet stains, you will want to pre-treat stain areas by spraying (and thereafter scrubbng with a scrub sponge) the stained areas with the cleaning solution prior to using the unit. Also, after 3 or 4 months, most pet stains will reappear. This is not a negative reflection on the Hoover cleaner, but more a reflection on the realities (and limitations) of carpets, carpet cleaners, and pet stains. I am not aware of any other carpet cleaner (commercial or non-commercial) that can do any better than this unit, and believe me, I have looked. Further, the performance of the unit will depend on your willingness to clean out pet fur and/or other debris from the filters. As said, it is not a miracle cleaner - you have to give it some help by cleaning out the filters so that it can perform at its best. To my knowledge, there is no "miracle carpet cleaner" that ovbiates the need to peform essential basic maintenance on the unit.
This product also wins accolades for not leaking cleaning solution from the primary tank or the recovery tank. It's a very "tight unit", liquid-wise.
If you want clean carpets, and don't want to drop $1000 or more on a true "commercial" cleaner, this is the way to go.
