Sizzix Sizzlits Alphabet Set - Funky Brush Review

I love the set shown, but it is not Funky Brush--the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. If you like the look of this font, you will love this product. If you are specifically looking for Funky Brush, look elsewhere. This set, as pictured, is called Boxed Brush. It is a great, versatile font.

Chicago Metallic Baking Essentials Cupcake/Batter Dispenser Review

I was amazed by the quality of this product. I'm a really messy baker, and there was no mess at all. You have full control of how much batter to dispense, and the best part was that the bottom didn't even get messy like I expected! As soon as you let go of the handle, it stops everything, not even an extra drop. It was the fastest and cleanest I've ever made cupcakes in my life. And very easy to clean too! I couldn't think of one bad thing to say about this product. I'm so impressed.

Sunbeam FPSBCML900 Cupcake Mixer, Pink Review

I've had the Sunbeam heart shaped waffle maker for about 12 years now and it's still going strong and works great so I didn't hesitate to buy this cupcake maker and also the donut maker. We have an 11 year old who loves to help cook so this was perfect for her. WOW is all I can say. I have a $2,000 Kitchenaid convection oven and I'll never use it again to bake cupcakes or muffins. The first morning we used it I tried it with one of those Martha White quick mix muffin mix and they were perfect. I find that even with an expensive oven I have to usually turn the muffin tins around half way through baking but this bakes everything evenly. I JUST finished 2 dozen cupcakes from a Duncan Heines cake mix and they turned out better then anything I've made in my oven. Set the kitchen timer for 12 minutes and each batch was done perfectly. If you're in a super hurry maybe not the best option as you can do it faster in a regular oven but it was half the work not having to worry about forever checking my oven to make sure half of them weren't over done. This product ROCKS and this is from a mom who has been baking for 25 years. All Teflon coated products have an initial smell to them but I didn't find that it smelled up my house like another poster here. I give this 5 stars for the super easy clean up (NONE) and another 5 stars for even baking. Just a super great product. Thanks Sunbeam, I've been a user of your products for years and will continue to enjoy them for years to come

Smart Planet CDM-2 Pigs in a Blanket Maker Review

I bought this feeling a little blind--there were no reviews and the product information didn't indicate how big the finished product is. I've used the mini-donut maker Smart Planet MCM-1 Mini Cupcake Maker before and read all the reviews for the corn dog maker Smart Planet CDM-1 Corn Dog Maker which helped me make my decision to purchase this product.
I've used it twice--the first time I used gluten free waffle batter, the second time I made gluten free corn bread some with diced up hot dogs. Each well holds 2-3 tablespoons of batter. If the wells aren't filled enough the tops don't brown. If they are filled too full the batter runs out and connects the wells, which wasn't a problem as the batter still cooks. Clean up was easy.
These make great little finger foods. I love that I don't have to heat up the oven to have nice baked goods.

Okay, to the reviewer who didn't know it was a mini cupcake machine - did you look at the pictures before purchasing? Oh well.
I don't understand why people are rating this so negative! I received one for Christmas from a family friend and have had no troubles with it. I wiped it down as instructed before using, sprayed a little Pam for baking on it, added the batter and BOOM! wonderful mini banana nut muffins my first go around. I thought it was too good to be true so I made another batch with chocolate chips - the nonstick was awesome! No residual chocolate left in the little molds and they came out perfectly.
I haven't heard or read anything negative about them until I came across it here. Like with all electronics such as this there runs a risk of overheating and electrical issues ( I had one with a foreman grill and yet they're still huge sellers) but I haven't read too much about this machine. I had it plugged in for a good 2 hours and no problems at all. I would recommend this to everyone.

Received this as a Valentine's Day gift and fired it up for the first time tonight. LOVED IT.
I made the "Just Plain Good" cupcake recipe from the book Small Batch Baking by Debby Nakos. I was tempted to try a cake mix, but I figured it would make dozens of mini-temptations to haunt me. This recipe was for 4 regular sized cupcakes - it made 13 mini-cupcakes (in two batches) in the device. I used paper cups and skipped the oil/cooking spray step. They turned out perfectly! The first batch were ready after one cooking cycle (under 10 min), but the 2nd batch needed two cycles - presumably because I didn't wait for the device to completely re-heat before starting the 2nd batch.
One thing I'd point out that the manual is unclear about is how to tell when the cooking cycle is over. The "ready" light turms off at the end of the cycle. It doesn't say that and I wasn't sure, so I opened it prematurely - but no biggie, everything was fine.
I wish there was a supporting website where users could exchange recipes, but I'm so far delighted with this - it's like a George Foreman grill for cake addicts!
