(More customer reviews)I am a juicing fanatic! So naturally I wanted to try all of the juicers and comparison shop before I bought my own. I must say, the Braun Juice Extractor takes the cake! Here's why:
1. This Juicer is easy to assemble: the Juiceman Jr always was difficult to connect all of the parts together.
2. This Juicer is easy to DISassemble: Trying to take the rotating mesh blade off of the Juiceman Jr is a pain (and can be painfull!)
3. The design is VERY spacesaving and ergonomically correct: The Juiceman Jr has a large, unnatached bin and normal glass that doesn't fit or store well with the juicer unit. The Braun Juice Extractor however, fits together in all one base unit, and even the pouring bin that recieves the juice snuggly fits against the juicer unit.
4. The REALLY cool foam strainer: This is the best part! If you've ever juiced, you know what a pain the foam at the top is! You can't get rid of the foam without actually straining it or scooping it away; you can kiss that foam goodbye with the strainer!
5. The detachable tray at the top allows you to hold your fruit and veggies without messing up other bowls and cutting boards.
6. It's just better that all the rest! Try it, and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!

Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Pro Review

(More customer reviews)Ok, I actually bought this juicer before I read the reviews for this one (Power Juicer Pro) and the other J.LaLanne juicers (Power Juicer, Power Juicer Deluxe). I had wanted one for at least 15 years and put if off due to the cost. So now I have one, and I love it! Like I wrote, I read the reviews after I paid for it already. But alot of the negative reviews were so terribly written and most of the people couldn't even spell - I mean like the word "vegetable"! So I dismissed most of them as uninformed or lacking. And sure enough! If you read the owner's booklet, and use the product properly, you will not have any problems with it. Here are my responses to some of the problems listed by other reviews (this includes all J.LaLanne Power Juicer models):
"Strainer is plastic on the 'Pro'" - No, it isn't. Maybe it used to be when this review was written (?).
"I made 2 quarts of juice, then my juicer started leaking out the sides" - uhm, again if you read the booklet, you should only be making a couple of glasses at a time - one quart max. - then you will need to clean the strainer as the pulp will clog up the strainer and cause juice to back up into the machine. This juicer is not designed to hold liquid.
"The motor shaft sheared off when I tightened the blade onto it". The booklet states to be careful when tightening on the blade as this can cause the shaft to shear. This may be a legitimate problem with the product and this shaft ShouLD be metal, not plastic. So far, I have had no problems, and am very careful not to tighten too hard.
"I put in radishes and they blew out the pulp chute". The booklet states to follow small items immediately with larger ones to keep this from happening. I have not had a problem with small items such as radishes.
"The spout leaks all over the place". Again, I have had no problems with the spout.
"It is hard to clean and the little brush they give you does nothing". This product is EXTREMELY easy to clean. The brush works very well on the strainer. A power water sprayer also works wonders. Additional advice is to clean right after juicing, or right after you enjoy your juice. Naturally, if you let the juicer sit uncleaned, the pulp and juice residue will get dry and hard and be difficult to get off. If you clean it right away, it is a breeze and shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to clean the five pieces.
This juicer also comes with two juice recipe books and one juice and pulp recipe book (muffins, soups, and such).

(More customer reviews)This little juicer is a great intro into the juicing lifestyle. It is a centrifugal juicer meaning the vegetables you place into it are shredded by tiny teeth and the pulp is thrown against the outer wall of the screen and the juice is forced out by the spinning motion. What you get is a fair amount of juice for the vegetables you place into it. I have owned this juicer for over 5 years with little or no problems at all with it. I usually juice every day so that is saying a good deal for a machine that costs less than $100.
I would give it 5 stars if it were not for the following things:
1. It is noisy, I mean lock up the cat because when you fire it up it resembles a jet engine taking off.
2. A pain to clean. It only has 1 moving part but due to the nature of the process food particles fling all over the inside of it.
3. Bogs down with pulpy fruits.
Some hard-core juicing people say that centrifugal juicers heat the juice up and this destroys nutrients. In my opinion even heated a small amount is still better than sucking down soda and pizza any day.

Omega Juicer Model O2 Review

(More customer reviews)I did SO much research on the Internet before finding that there are 2 small juicers available, and that both get good reviews. One is this one and the other is the L'equip mini. This model is newer so it didn't have as many reviews, so I couldn't decide. I called up one of the Internet sites and asked which they suggested. They said that Omega has a great reputation and stands by their products better than the other company. If you read the reviews of the L'equip 221 you'll see that that company is horrible if you have a problem with your juicer.
I just got the juicer today. You can get free shipping, so shop around.
Pros:
QUIET (much quieter than my blender), EFFICIENT, EASY TO CLEAN, EXTREMELY WELL BUILT
Juicer is GREAT!! It comes assembled and you can rinse out the parts and try it out in like 5 minutes.
From my research I knew that dry pulp shows it's an efficient machine, and that frothy juice is a negative - from supposed oxidation. I'd call it oxygenization, since air gets into the juice from being centrifuged.
Anyway, my own pulp test was fine. My first juice batch had moist pulp but when I pushed the veggies into the chamber more lightly the pulp was surprisingly dry.
Put a plastic bag, like the kind you put your veggies in, into the pulp catcher as a liner and you'll reduce your mess by a lot. The thing disassembles quickly and easily. I use a veggie brush to clean the screen and the whole thing cleans up in like 5 minutes. The messiest thing for me was the inside of the plastic top.
There was a little froth on the top of the juice, but nothing more than you get at a juice stand, and I'm not sure I believe this is a problem anyway.
The parts are very solid. The mesh filter basket is well built and the blade is very thick and solid, especially compared to food processor blades. The bowl is also stainless.
Highly recommend. Solid build, dry pulp when you get the right technique, and Omega stands by its products.
MAY BE CON:
Not sure about the froth issue. It didn't seem very frothy to me, but if you're used to the classic Champion juicers it may be more than you've had before. I'm just an inexperienced juicer and can't really tell whether this thing makes a lot or a little. Doesn't seem like a lot to me but I have nothing to compare it to.

Green Star GS-1000 Juice Extractor Review

(More customer reviews)I've been juicing since the early 1990s and more recently, as a certified raw foods associate chef, have been preparing a wider range of juicer recipes including pates and ice cream from frozen bananas. I have experience with Green Star, Champion, Juiceman, and several other juicers, and have read quite a bit about various models of juicers. If you are going to be juicing a lot of greens such as kale and parsley, the Green Star will give you a better and more nutritious yield than any juicer on the market. It far exceeds masticating juicers such as the Champion in this regard, as well as centrifugal juicers such as the Juiceman. A huge benefit of Green Star is that it juices wheat grass, so you will not need a dedicated wheat grass juicer. It's also amazingly quiet, far quieter (and a bit slower) than my Champion. And like the Champion, it does a great job with pates, frozen ice cream, and other recipes requiring a homogenizing blade, also known as a "blank." With a slower speed, the juice does not heat up as much as with a Champion and oxidizes slower.
So is there a catch? Yes. There are far more parts to assemble, disassemble, and clean than with a Champion. I'm reminded of the time when my brother was a child, he asked to borrow my father's watch, and my father said, "sure." A few days later, my father wanted his watch back, and entered my brothers room to find a bazillion little pieces on the floor: gears, springs, etc. My brother explained that he wanted the watch so he could take it apart, but not to worry he said, "I'll put it back together." My father said, "don't worry about it, you can keep the watch." When I take apart a Green Star juicer, I always think of this story because it has so many more parts than a Champion. (Although fortunately, the Green Star is far easier to assemble and disassemble than an analog watch.:-) At the Living Light Culinary Institute where I trained as a raw foods chef, when we made pates and banana ice cream, we always reached for the Champion, not the Green Star.
In deciding whether to purchase a Green Star juicer, consider whether you are going to be juicing a lot of greens and/or wheatgrass, and whether you're really going to take the time to disassemble, clean, and assemble about a dozen parts each time you use it. If you're not put off by that, then I highly recommend the Green Star. If you are mostly considering a juicer for carrot juice, fruit juices, banana ice cream and pates, then I would steer you towards the Champion. If you want to use a juicer for all of the above and can afford and have the space for both, then I enthusiastically recommend both.
Note that there are 3 models of Green Star juicers, of which the GS1000 is their most basic model. The GreenStar.com website explains the various accessories that come with or can be purchased with each. Accessories such as pasta makers and mochi makers are available for purchase with the GS1000, but are included with the GS3000.

Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer Express Review

Carrots would always get stuck in the bottom of the shoot and impede anything else including the stuck carrots from passing through to the blade. I had to keep stopping the juicer to pull the carrots out. I realized that everytime a put a carrot in the juicer, it would get stuck once it got juiced down to the right size to just sit at the bottom of the shoot. Ughhh...so I returned it and got the Jack La Lane "Elite." The only difference was that the "Elite" had a stainless steel cover...it had exactly the same problem..I would never, ever, recommend this juicer to anyone. I ended up going back to my Juiceman Jr which I have had for over 15 years. I had put it in a bag to take to Goodwill, but had to take it out again.I now have a Breville "elite". It DOES NOT JUICE greens well and there seems to be a lot of waste. I'm going to try another brand and if I am still dissatisfied will just stick with my old Juiceman Jr!

(More customer reviews)I don't think you can find a better, easier to use citrus juicer at any price. It's gone up a couple of bucks since I bought mine, but it is still the best deal available without question.
It's fast, stable on the counter, converts to a serving pitcher when you're done juicing, and it's absolutely a cinch to clean up. I can't think of anything Proctor Silex could do to improve this product.
If you're in the market for a citrus juicer (and fresh-squeezed is so far superior to anything you can buy in the grocery store) you can't do better than this one. Buy it.

(More customer reviews)When I was in the market for a juicer, I had 2 in the price range I was thinking about. They were the Breville Compact Juice Fountain and Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer. A friend had let me borrow the Power Juicer, and I really liked it. As I was reading reviews and doing research, I concluded that the Breville was a better choice. So, I went out and bought the Breville.
I made the wrong choice! When I juiced apples, it left chunks of apples un-juiced that were about the size of a quarter. It also sent a good bit of the peal into the pulp area. I also found the juice to be very "gritty" and full of pulp. I was juicing a days worth of juice for my wife and me (about 32 lbs of apples), so I had to stop the machine and clean out the pulp 3 times.
I have since returned the Breville juicer and bought the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer. It works much better. I can juice 32 lbs of apples and never change the pulp catcher (I put a bag in it, so I don't even have to clean that part of the machine. The juice is much cleaner with less pulp. The Breville has a faster RPM motor, but the Power Juicer is every bit as powerful. It juices whole apples easily. You can also get about 4 decent sized carrots in there with no trouble.
All in all, I recommend the Power Juicer over the Breville. If you like a lot of pulp, then you might like the Breville. It is a good juicer for smaller quantities of juice. The Breville is a better looking juicer as far as its styling and color goes, but for me the Power Juicer wins hands down.

(More customer reviews)2 years after my original review the juicer is still working well. You will need a little more muscle to juice carrots if carrots are hard but the work is worth the juice you receive.
You get what you pay for is very real with juicers. I have been juicing for more than 10 years and have graduated from centrifical force juicers to masticating to the Green Power. It is everything it says it is. My family juices daily. This juicer is definitely quieter than all other juicers we have used. (More customer reviews)This juicer definitely produced the best juice. Put cool veggies and fruit in from the frig and get cool juice out, and the quality is outstanding. We have been juicing now for a month and we feel so much better. Because of the energy I get from the juice in the mornings, I was actually able to quick drinking coffee! While one of the other reviewers was correct in that this juicer does take up some counter space, the parts are definitely not made cheaply - at least on our model (the Green Star 3000). After all the junk that is being made these days, this machine is made of quality parts, and is actually a little bit heavy (but it has a nice handle).
We love our machine. We love having the best possible product coming out of our machine. The only drawback, and it is a slight one, it that the machine does take a few minutes to clean, and should be cleaned immediately after use. The parts are good quality, strong and durable, but not for use in a dishwasher (according to the manuafacturer.) If it were not for this, I would have given it five stars easily.
One hint: Plan you juicing ahead of time. Because the machine takes 4-5 minutes (for two people) to clean, and because of the quality of the product (the magnets and low speed and low heat which does allow the juice to remain fresh longer) we usually juice enough for two mornings at a time (for two adults). All told, between cutting up the veggies and fruit, the actual juicing, and cleaning up,it takes about 20 minutes every other day. This may seem a little long just for juicing, but for our health, it is way worth it!!

However, it's just too much trouble to assemble the screw and caps and cut up vegetables and feed them in the hopper and plunge them in, slowly. With my old high speed blender that I use for carrot juices, it's simply a matter of pushing whole carrots into the top slot. Then open and clean out. Takes a minute. In sum, I would say this Samson machine may be useful for something, to someone. But please, if only I could have tried it out first.

Samson Ultrasonic Fruit, Vegetable and Dish Washer Plus Disinfector 3D Soul System GBW-300 Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this without reading a single review. I searched hard for one, but guess this must be too pricey for most people to purchase it (at least, that's my guess). But since my husband and I juice every morning, we wanted something to remove pesticides. We bought this and have never regretted it. Granted, I can't prove that pesticides and other bad things (i.e e-choli) are actually removed, because I don't have a science lab at hand, I CAN say items washed are MUCH cleaner with this. I can also say we haven't gotten sick, and spinach is one of our daily ingredients (I'm reviewing this shortly after the e-choli on spinach breakout).
I have washed bunches of celery and been disgusted by what was washed off (bugs, dirt, and who knows what else). Even if we can't see much difference, we can feel a difference. For example, carrots washed in running water feel like carrots, but carrots washed in this washer feel almost like they were scrubbed clean.
If you can afford this, I highly recommend it.
I will add, for those who purchase it, that there is a metal ring in the bottom of the bowl that says 'open' and 'close.' I called Samson's help line and asked about this, since nothing is mentioned in the user's guide. The man told me to leave it alone (on the 'closed' setting), that it is for repair technicians to use.
We've used it for food, and also for our toothbrushes. They get a thorough cleaning each month, and I don't have to worry about them warping, as happens when they are boiled clean.

(More customer reviews)I needed replacement parts for my Jack Lellane Juicer (made by Tristar) that I got from the infomercial. I previously bought replacement parts, for it,from Tristar, the company that makes the Jack L juicer and it took 3 months to receive them. It also took over a month to receive that juicer when I initailly ordered it. Tristar has the worst customer service ever, and I'd recommend avoiding them at all costs, unless you enjoy frustration.
I decided to try to find a new juicer and leave the Jack L juicer behind.
Previous to the Jack L juicer I had the old Juiceman JR, but I didn't really like it because the feeder was very small, the motor was weak, and the plastic broke very quickly.
My research on Amazon showed that the Breville juicers all got good reviews, and I suspect that they're excellent juicers, but after spending $200 on the Jack L juicer i was hesitant to spend that much again.
I happened to be in Macys, and I saw the Juiceman Jr JM300 next to the JL juicer and the Breville Juice fountain plus. A quick look at the floor models showed that the Jack L juicer has only 250 watts of power. The Breville has 850 watts but cost $150. Breville also has a 600 watt model that gets good reviews here on Amazon.
The Juiceman Jr JM300 Has 700 watts and only cost me $59 + tax, and it's a bit smaller than the other two. This looked pretty good to me.
The minute I got home. I juiced 2 heads of leafy green lettuce and a whole lemon w/ the peel on.
This machine is not very loud, and chewed up everything very quickly. It did slow down a bit w/ the lemon, but I only used slow speed ( it has 2 speeds) and I pushed the plunger perhaps too hard. As soon as I let up on the pressure, It chewed up the lemon quickly and easily. This is something the Jack L juicer never did for me.
The design of the feeder and blade seems sturdy enough. The feeder on this model is fairly wide like the other 2 juicers listed above. The feeder is directly over the center of the blade and the hole is the same width as the entire blade. (different than I've seen on other juicers where the feeder is over a radius area of the blade).
The blade has very sharp teeth which seems to be a good feature, but be very careful w/ it. I got a small cut while I was washing it. Otherwise the machine seems very safe.
The Pulp that came out of this machine was more dry and the amount of juice was more than the Jack L juicer ever produced.
There is a foam seperator in the juice jug that works well.
Cleaning the machine was easy, and took about 30 seconds. I just rinsed it right after using it and used the brush that came with it to clean the filter.
Based on the price and results of this juicer I'm very happy w/ my purchace.

(More customer reviews)I've owned my Green Power KPE 1304 Juicer for over 18 months now. Our family juices 3-4 times a week and we like to think of ourselves as seasoned pro's.
We juice wheatgrass on a regular basis and found that the machine works flawlessly making pretty much all juices. Our family is very health conscience and wanted a juicer that would make our favorite juices, be easy to clean and last a couple days before going bad, that is if we don't drink it all that same day.
I researched many different juicers including the Green Star and the Green Power Gold and learned that these models where a much older design from the mid 90's which has not been updated and had a few drawbacks. The Green Power 1304 is the latest design and I am telling you this because I was initially completely confused as Tribest tried to tell me that the Green Star and Green Power Gold where the latest and best models available which was completely untrue.
I contacted Kitchen's Best customer service and kept the kind lady on the phone with all of my silly questions for well over half an hour. I really appreciated the time that she spent with me. I really do not like to be "sold" over the phone and I clearly felt that she just wanted to help me find the right juicer. She e-mailed me the Green Power history chart which clearly showed the evolution of the Green Power/Green Star Juicers which was very helpful.
Our family totally loves the juicer! The kids enjoy having fun creating different juices and clean up is fairly easy if you clean it right away.
I highly recommend the juicer and the company's customer service is always fantastic. I have now purchased multiple times from this company and it has been a great experience. INCREDIBLE Juice Yield. The pulp is super dry.
(I use to have a Breville Juice Fountain Plus- The pulp from the Breville(Centrifugal Force Juicer) was very wet. Breville would juice Carrots, Cucumbers, Apples, Even Kale pretty well producing 60% Juice and 40% Pulp. But the Breville was unbelievably easy to clean by comparison. After a year of juicing with the Breville, I got my cleanup time to about 3-4 minutes and then stuck it in the dishwasher and it was ready to go the next day)
Angel Juicer- I can not stress this enough, but the pulp was extremely dry. The angel juices spinach + other greens, brocolli, etc. very very well. It is time consuming to juice since the feed chute is smaller than the breville and the juiceman.
I estimate that the angel produces between 75-85% juice of whatever vegetable or fruit you put in. Even though it seems like you get only 15-20% more juice, the quality is far, far, far, superior than the Breville and the Juiceman.
Now for the bad part:
The cleanup for the angel is way longer. Initially, when I first used the angel juicer, it took me 35 mins to clean. Especially if you juice carrots, the pulp gets lodged inside the holes in the screen.
I originally purchased the angel juicer because I figured there are only 3 parts to clean (2 twin gears and 1 screen). The plus side is that the gears are very easy to clean, just pour water on it and the pulp just rinses away.
The screen is a different story altogether. The screen Length is very long which is great for getting a high juice yield but tough to clean. Your hands can not reach all the way inside so you have to use the included brush and then scrub scrub scrub for a very long time.
(However, I have not tried putting it in the dishwasher or used vinegar to clean it because the juicer is expensive and I did not want the juicer to be damaged with high heat from the dishwasher.)
My recommendation: Its an ok Juicer, I am not sure if I will juice everyday if the total time to juice is over 40 minutes (minimum).
For me, I am going back on the hunt to find a juicer that juices greens as well as the angel does but takes half the time to clean. Hope this helps. :-)
