(More customer reviews)This scale is the worst thing I have ever seen, it shows a full half liter bottle of water as 194 g, this with a scale that is claimed to have a 0.1g accuracy. For those of you that does not follow the metric system, half a liter weighs 500g, so the scale is off by 306g, quite the discrepancy. Also, the buttons are placed in such a way that it is impossible to calibrate the scale without applying pressure on the measuring device leaving you with a uncalibrated scale (with the very large error in measuring it does not really matter because you would be better of just weighing the ingredients by hand). Learn from my mistake... do not buy this scale, you will only have to buy another.

Even though I got this scale for breadmaking, I've actually ended up using it more for postage and shipping and its been a real breeze to use. Has everything you'd need in a simple utilitarian kitchen scale and has definately been one of my better purchases. Now I gotta look for stuff to weigh around the house =P

(More customer reviews)I researched all the available nutrtion scales on the market and decided on the EatSmart. And what a good choice it's been. It's truly a great product and performs exactly as advertised, providing extensive nutritional information that's not available from any other scale. You'll be amazed at the discrepancies when you compare the actual weight of some foods with what's listed on the nutrition information printed on the package. For example, the information printed for spoon-sized shredded wheat is for a one-cup serving (52 grams). If you weigh the cereal, though, 52 grams is a lot closer to being 3/4 of a cup, not a full cup. Same for potato chips, pretzels and other irregularly shaped foods. And regarding the company that makes the scale: The scale that arrived didn't function properly. I e-mailed the company and within 20 minutes got a phone call from the vice president, who had me do some tests and quickly determined that the scale was defective. He said he'd send a replacement immediately. Sure enough, a new scale arrived as promised and it works perfectly. That's customer service. At any rate, I can't say enough good things about the scale. Like me, I'm sure you'll be pleased if you buy one.

It is very accurate and has a nice little stainless steel cover on it that you can take off and wash separately, instead of trying to be careful not to soak the electronic parts when washing it. It weighs up to 11 lbs and does a great job with smaller weights too. I highly recommend this scale.
