(More customer reviews)I purchased a single-serving coffee maker awhile ago and found myself burnt out on the available pod flavors. So I got this pod maker and I very much enjoyed being able to make my own pods. However, this product doesn't last very long. I have since read several reviews from other sites with the same problem. My pod maker worked great for about 9 months. After that the heating element would no longer heat. I called the number in the manual several times and got an answering machine every time. I left messages but never did get a response. I refuse to spend another 40 dollars for a product that doesn't even last a year. However, I did find a way to continue making pods. I took the product apart and removed the heating element and all the electronics. The plastic base is the only part you need to keep. I use a small travel size iron to heat the pods which seals them just as well if not better than the original heating element. You will want to use an iron without water to avoid get the pod wet while sealing it.
Note: This product will fail, but with a little adjustment you can still use it to make your favorite coffee pods.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this little machine after spending a fortune (.50) for each 8 oz. cup of coffee using the Senseo coffee pods. This Pod Maker is marvelous! Not only does it make pods using whatever coffee you like, it makes pods for an 8 oz. cup of coffee! Senseo pods only make a 4 oz. cup of coffee, so you have to use two pods if you want to have a decent size cup of joe. You fill the pod, fold over its top over the coffee, and then seal the pod in 2 to 3 seconds with the pod maker. Incredibly simple. I also have used the Ecopads, which are great also. However, you have to empty and clean the Ecopads each time you use them. It also takes 2 Ecopads to make 8 oz. of coffee. The Perfect Pod Coffee Pod Maker is the better choice.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this awhile ago. It does work well and for the reviewers that are saying they are having a problem with it sealing, they are doing something wrong. You have to be very careful when filling the pods with the coffee. You cannot get any coffee in the area where it will get sealed otherwise it will not seal properly. This product does, in fact work very well. But, the cost of the filters and the shipping is crazy. Don't waste your money on this. I learned my lesson. Get the Coffeeduck. You pay once and do not have to invest in filters. Works very well, still get the great cream and rich flavor of your own coffee.

I started spending lots of money on k-cups and feeling S.O.L. if I didn't order on time and I ran out of luck. So I bought a Pod Holster to fit into the machine so that I could use any pod I wanted. I noticed that they were sold as a set so based on the reviews I set out to see if the Perfect Pod maker could really hold its own. (More customer reviews)i had received a keurig coffee maker for christmas. i was tickled because i really love drinking coffee one fresh cup at a time. and being the only coffee drinker in the house, making a whole pot was just wasteful. up until now, i'd been using a french press and tea kettle, which made a great cup of coffee, but took forever. long story short, i really like this machine.
of course though, it's great flaw is the ridiculous amount of WASTE. as great a cup of coffee those little k-cups make, i just can't bring myself to throwing out one of those little bits of landfill fodder every time i want a cup of joe. i had received that official reusable mesh filter device with the coffee maker, to use my own coffee, but that device isn't worth the cardboard it came in. its design is terribly flawed and not once could i get a decent cup from it. we even tried some diy hacks, trying to make something or retrofit something that would give a comparable brew to the k-cups. no go. frustrated, i searched for something that would work.
this is it. i was apprehensive about buying it, not wanting to shell out more money on a device that just wouldn't work, but luckily it gave me a great cup right out of the gate. while i wish i could have found something that created zero waste (besides the coffee grounds) for this machine, i can live with composting these paper filters with the grounds. it's a little more complicated (a few more steps) than just sticking a cup in the holster, but this is the design that works and it's not hard to use. i get to drink the coffee i love using this fast and easy machine, one cup at a time without throwing out those awful plastic cups.
what's great is that it works just fine with "drip brew" coffee grounds, which is what you usually find in the pre-ground packs at the grocery store. freshly ground coffee is always better, but i don't have a grinder of my own yet, and i hate using the machines at the store (they have no finesse and pulverize the beans regardless of ground setting.)
