(More customer reviews)This is an adorable little coffee maker, makes delicious coffee. Love the "brew pause" feature. But it always makes a complete mess on my counter, both when pouring water in and pouring coffee, therefore I can only give 3 stars. I came on Amazon today to find another 4 cup coffee maker that does NOT spill coffee all over my counter when I go to pour it. When I saw this on here, I decided I ought to write a review and warn those poor souls who might be tempted to order one. I give 5 stars for cuteness factor but just 1 star for practicality. Therefore, a total of 3 stars. Buyer beware.

(More customer reviews)I've had this coffee maker since last Christmas, and it is such a pain, it is not worth having the grinding unit in the coffee maker. As another writer had stated, the grinder fills with steam and becomes a sludgie mess. Coffee dust finds its way into other nooks & crevices of the maker so the filter door sticks shut, the coffee chamber doesn't hold enough beans for 12 cups of coffee, the grinder grinds too fine so that it doesn't work with the enclosed gold filter and you get coffee sludge in the pot of coffee....I could go on.
I got better results with rinsing the grinder immediately after brewing, and with switching to paper filters, but ultimately I bought a separate coffee grinder and much less expensive Mr. Coffee and got better results, less maintenance & less headache.
If you're like me, you may want to buy this dreaming of amazing freshly ground and brewed coffee waiting for you in the morning. I'm warning you of the nightmare on the other end. Please, avoid this product.

Miallegro 1090 Coffee Maker 12-cup Automatic Drip Review

(More customer reviews)This is the third Miallegro product I've bought, and like it as much as the other two. I got their MiTutto hand blender (real powerful!) and a fan before. Since they looked stylish and have held up well, I decided to go for this coffee maker. I had a Senseo before, but thought the pads were a bit pricey - so I wanted something easy and simple but still looked good.
The coffee maker doesn't really come with any bells n' whistles - instead, it's just easy to use, pretty reliable and shuts off automatically after an hour or so. I do like the permanent filter that's included - no need to buy the paper ones any more. I just take it out and rinse the grinds out in the sink.
One drawback is that it doesn't seem to really make 12 big cups. I started poking around, and it seems they're basing it on European-sized coffee cups, which are smaller than the big American ones. So, expect to make about 9 or 10 Yankee-size cups o' Joe.
So, i'm still very satisfied with my Miallegro purchases and will probably buy from them again.
