Ok, I have to admit, I live in Italy.. But I'm not italian, so I'm not very demanding when it comes to coffee..
I've used this product for a few times and I just can't say anything positive about it, except that it has a cool design...
The cappuccino has a burnt coffe taste, the foam is non-existing, it's just nasty.. and it's also very expensive.. It's been sitting in the top shelf of my kitchen for over a year now.. I have to say that I've never used it to make latte because that's just coffee with milk, I bought it because I wanted a cappuccino maker.. with a lot of foam, as the advertised..
I bought a nice traditional moka coffee maker and a cappuccino frother, and believe me, they work way better than this product..
Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.. Although I might make an exception just to get rid of it.. (sigh)

Bialetti Brikka 4 Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker 06988 Review

Excellent coffeemaker! Makes perfect espresso. Don't be fooled by the size. Four cups means four tiny cups, one sip each. Don't plan on using this thing to make coffee for your friends. Maximum two people can enjoy this at a time and only if they are used to drinking coffee in European quantities.
One con: hard to clean and the old smell tends to linger, especially in the bottom part of the apparatus. Another, do not attempt to wash it in a dishwasher; though nothing dramatic, but the chrome plating is gone, which gave the thing older vintage look :-)

In Italy, espresso is coffee. Any other type of coffee is foreign. When made with a professional pump machine, espresso has a crema - a creme like froth floating atop the coffee. It isn't milk. It's the coffee itself. It adds a rich coating to an already delicious brew. Stovetop espresso makers generally can't produce that crema. That's where the Bialetti Brikka shines. It's a stovetop espresso maker that has a special valve that allows crema to form. So now you can have espresso with crema and celebrate the taste of true Italian coffee anytime.Stylish Octagonal DesignAluminum Coffee Maker And FilterStainless Steel FunnelSize (HxWxD) -8 x 4 x 4

I was really impressed by this dynamo of an espresso maker which in my opinion is better than any fancy or very expensive pump machine. Every cup of espresso I have with this maker comes out perfect, with the crema in it. Save yourself a lot of money when considering an espresso maker, this 50 dollar stove top maker will outperform your several hundred dollar pump machine everytime. The proof is in the cup you will enjoy with this espresso maker. Remember to follow the instructions, which are actually easy to understand. I am sold on Bialetti Brikka makers...you will be too.

Bialetti Musa 4-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker Review

We having been using the Italian made Bialetti aluminum espresso maker for about 4 years and really like it. However, the aluminum Bialetti can't be used in a dishwasher (it oxidizes and turns dark.) We thought that a stainless model would be more convenient to clean. However, this Indian made coffee maker isn't made to as exacting a standard as the aluminum Italian one. The top and bottom pieces don't screw together as well and is very hard to prevent the steam from leaking.
Two year update: This model got better with age. The pieces screw together better and doesn't leak anymore. In addition, slightly looser fit of the rubber gasket made it easier to remove and clean. It cleans nicely in a dishwasher and is very durable. Now will give it a four star.

Bialetti Replacement Gaskets Review

I guessed that the 3-cup version was what I needed for our 4-cup stainless steel Bialetti pot, and luckily I was right. The gasket's outer diameter is 2.5 inches, and the ring is 0.25 inches wide.
It is the real deal, Bialetti product - a package of 3 gaskets plus a replacement filter. A great deal at this price.
This came from J&R, and arrived in only a couple days with standard shipping. I'm totally, completely satisfied!

I actually bought this for my wife for her birthday - but I think I enjoy it more then she does.
I know that this doesn't make "true" espresso but it comes mighty close in my opinion (i'm not much of a connoisseur, but I do love a good cup). In fact this is better then most any other espressos i've had! I love the coffee this thing produces! The first night I ended up drinking 6 shots of 'espresso' made with fresh Baba Budan beans and I still wanted more! I couldn't do it though because it was 1:00 in the morning and I was wide awake from drinking so much coffee.
Here are a few tips for you...
Make sure you have a Burr grinder. You want a fine grind (but not too fine) to get the most out of your coffee. Burr grinders can be quite the investment but well worth it. You will need a Burr grinder for any espresso machine anyways.
Make sure you have cups close by. This thing will suddenly shoot out coffee and if you're not quick enough you might get some coffee on your stove... as soon as you hear the gurgle and whistle get your cup ready! (you'll know what i'm talkin about...), After a few rounds you'll have it down.
Chances are your first pot will not turn out perfect (unless you've done something like this before...which I haven't). The good news is that after your first time you will understand how the process works and everything will be fine after that!
Clean this as soon as you can! It will be hot for awhile but try to clean it ASAP to make cleaning easier. It's worth it... trust me.
Follow the instructions EXACTLY. It's not hard to do by any means but make sure you read the instructions. if you accidently do something wrong such as pack in the coffee tightly then you will be sorry. The instructions are very simple but very useful.
I noticed one reviewer mentioned that this coffee comes out tasting burnt. If you grind your coffee too fine then it gets caked inside the coffee holder and it takes longer for the coffee to make it up inside the main chamber (excuse my lack of correct terminology). This does cause a burnt flavor because only a little bit of coffee comes out at a time which causes that little bit to become a bit burnt before the next splash comes through. If you grind it slightly more coarse then this will not happen and your coffee will taste amazing. I have a feeling that the people that mention the burnt flavor are grinding their coffee a bit too fine. You want the coffee to be ground fine but not like flour... more like fine sugar.
Have fun! This simple little gadget makes a fine cup. Enjoy!

Bialetti Moka Express 3 Cup Espresso Maker 06799 Review

Bialetti Moka Express 3 Cup Espresso Maker 06799

Makes better espresso then most of the espresso shops here in Java Town, Seattle. It also costs about ten times less then an espresso machine that probably won't make as good coffee, and eventualy will need repair. Bialetti has been making these things since the dawn of time and have it down to a science.
A few tips:
1. Grind coffee between medium and fine.
2. Don't pack coffee into basket like you do in an espresso machine.
3. Heat between medium and high heat.
4. Be careful not to have the handle be over the burner of flame.
5. NEVER WASH THE POT WITH DETERGENT. JUST RINSE AND DRY. The more you use the pot,the better the coffee becomes.
6. Before using for the first time season the pot. Make a pot of weak coffee and discard it.

With all the expensive espresso makers sold around the world, native Italians prefer espresso from stovetop espresso makers and more Italians use Bialetti for their stovetop Italian coffee. For an excellent cup of Italian coffee, the classic eight-side household coffeepot is considered a true Italian tradition. The Moka Espress boasts a lot of records and, as such, is the most copied coffee-maker! With sturdy aluminum construction, the Moka Express is a product that actually improves with constant use. The unit is extremely simple to use. Just fill the lower chamber with water and the filter with ground espresso coffee. Place the pot on the stove and heat until the water boils. As it does, the liquid espresso moves to the upper chamber of the pot, ready to be poured into an awaiting espresso cup. After that, all you need to do is enjoy the delicious nectar of coffee.
