after you take your food off. use the rubber spatula provided and get as much off as you can.
Unplug...then soak paper towels and place them in the grill and close and let sit for a half hour...take off...wipe down...then plug back in to let the rest of the settled grime lift off...do not use soap..just use the rubber spatula again and get the rest off...always use towels or...purchase his own scrubbing sponges. I have those but knock wood,,,don't need them yet...

Calphalon 1759546 Electric Panini Grill Review

(More customer reviews)Yes, this grill works. After reading some very mixed reviews, I am pleased to say that Calphalon delivers on everything it promises. I have owned this grill for 5 months now and am very pleased.
To address some common complaints:
- It's true that it doesn't create a smoked bbq flavor, which has been a common complaint, but why would anyone expect that anyhow?
- It's powerful and hot enough for everything I've thrown on the grill. It cooks chicken and steak all the way through, assuming that the meat isn't thicker than 3/4 inch or so. But if you want a full-sized Barbecue like grill, this may be too small.
- It seems best suited for grilling paninis, veggies, fish, hamburgers, and chicken breasts. Again, it's just a small electric grill, so it's not as hot as charcoal. A two inch thick T-bone steak may be a bit much, but mine's worked so well that I wouldn't be surprised if it could handle that too!
- The top and bottom plates do an excellent job of heating evenly on both sides. Complaints about long pre-heating and grilling times have not occurred with my grill.
- Some have complained about the meat looking microwaved. Hmmm, I suppose so. . . I've found that my meat looks very much like it was cooked between two hot metal plates, absent flame, smoke or ash.
- The little plastic height spacer is flimsy, so don't hit it wish a hammer too often.
- The only valid complaint really is that the grease drip pan slips free from the grill when you pick it up to move it. It's location, however is perfect, situated in the back where it can collect the grease best when the grill is opened regularly during cooking. An Excellent design feature.
All in all, I have been completely satisfied. The timer is a Great asset. The stainless steel looks phenomenal and cleans up easily. Speaking of which, I've never cleaned a non-stick grilling surface with more ease.
Rest assured, this is a Great Grill!

Carnival Corn Dog Maker Review

There are many crevices for batter to get into, making it difficult to clean (I had to take mine apart to properly clean it). Not recommended.

(More customer reviews)This lil panini press definitely gets the job done. It upgrades my boring sandwiches into hot little morsels from heaven. But it is very far from perfect. On taking it out of the box, I couldn't tell if it had been used or made in the most crazy, destructive, dysfunctional factory in the world. It had quite a few little dings and scratches on the plastic handles. It is so disappointing to wait for something to come in the mail, get excited about it and have it come out of the box looking like someone else returned it the day before they sent it out to me. Luckily, the grey "stainless steel" surface was fine and still protected in factory plastic. I'd been craving a panini for a week and didn't feel like dropping another 10$ at the cafe down the street, so I bit the bullet, washed it VERY thoroughly and it's now sitting on my counter. One of the reasons I gravitated towards this model was the price and that is advertised as having a floating hinge, which in my understanding, means that the top lid comes down directly on top of the sandwich, ie like a press should, and would not come down at any kind of angle like the George Forman grill. There is a slight swivel, but all in all, it comes down at an angle and depending on how tall the sandwich is, pushes the contents off. If I had seen this product before purchase, I probably would've just picked up a George Forman grill of the same size for half the price. The only differences, in my opinion, are that it looks better sitting on the counter than a Forman grill and the way this grill can open flat (for flat grilling on both the top and bottom grill) . But it is a feature I haven't used and probably won't ever use. Bottom line, I think this model is a glorified and overpriced George Forman Grill, and if I could do it again, I would either buy the George Forman Grill or spend double than what I spent to get a better product.

We have used it on numerous occasions since Christmas and have been more than satisfied. We thought at his first attempt at chicken he was preparing too much. It was so delicious we didn't even have leftovers! Only one problem. Wish more recipes came with it. That would give a better indication as to time to allow to cook something.

When I was at a major department store the Giada design seems to bear/mimic the same design as more expensive units??? It does have a floating lid which allows it to accommodate sandwiches of various sizes which is helpful and sure beats the George Foreman grill which I had been using :)It heats up quickly and at the highest setting is able to make two-three pressed sandwiches in minutes. If there were a downside it would be the short cord which was integrated into the unit to make sure you didn't trip over the thing and the fact that it's very easy to leave plugged in and turned on.
All I have to do now is make myself that 'perfect' Cuban sandwich which will be the ultimate test of the Giada unit's 'pressability.'

I have used this exact same Foreman for grilling chicken and heating leftover food for approx. 3 years and purchased a 2nd for my other home. I love the thing. The new Foreman is certainly bigger than my prevoius unit, but oh is it ever versatile. Take a look at what I cooked and my thoughts on positives and negatives of this grill:
What I cooked:
Frozen Teriyaki Grilled Chicken Strips purchased from Trader Joes
Raw Turkey Burger
Frozen Chicken Breast
Quesadilla Cheese and Chicken
Raw Chicken Skewers
Costco purchased Chicken Dogs
Cornbread Muffins
Positives:
-Yes, I said Cornbread muffins in the same Foreman as Raw Turkey Burger! Not at the same time. The Foreman comes with a great manual that describes the times and temperatures for many, many different items-so it takes the guessing out of the way. Fish, Chicken, Red Meat, Muffins, Waffles, you name it!
-Because this Foreman has variable temperature it is extremely versatile and you can grill just the way you like it. This is a HUGE plus because with most all other Foreman's you must grill at one temperature and leave on longer or shorter. Getting the center of meat cooked or warmed could be challenging because of no variable temperature. No more!
-There is also a timer on this so you do not have to use a stove timer, or watch.
-You can tilt this one or have it not tilted and there is plenty of room for the "Mouth" to open for a variety of things.
-The cooking surface is 72" so it's big enough to get on lots of food!
-It heats up to 300 degrees in 5 minutes. That's fast!
-The removable plates are easy to clean-easier than a regular grill
-Food tastes to much better warmed with the Foreman the microwave! Very juicy.
-Amazing versatility with the new plates. The bake dish means you could do Lasagne, Calzone, etc. as well as Cornbread, muffins and more. Who knew such a thing could be done with one device?
-Perfect for a camping trip with a generator to give you more than a grill-but an Oven as well!
Negatives-
-This is bigger than past Foreman's (see dimensions on product) so you need a place to store it and every time you bring it out it is a bit hefty. Also, because there are different plates that come with it-those will need to be stored somewhere else as well. If you are limited in space-this might not be for you if all you need is a quick basic grill and Panini Press-style device.
-It is expensive. I think the more basic ones are about $45 and this one is triple that. If you are going to use the versatility of it or you are going to grill with this a lot vs an outdoor grill-it's worth it. For the casual user-too much money.
Overall, I love this new Foreman and sadly I am giving my old one to my in-laws. I love that thing, but I love this one more!

Cuisinart multifunctional Griddler Gourmet maker Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the griddler in February of 2005 and have taken care to ensure it lasts. The Griddler is heavy and sturdily constructed. It heats up quickly, and cleans up even faster. We have used it for Panini, grilling meat, and toasting burger buns. The griddler comes with interchangeable dishwasher safe griddle and grill plates. The unit can be used as a Panini press or as a griddle.
The base of the unit heats up and maintains temperature better than the top. This creates uneven toasting of the Panini or other items. It's not so much of a problem using as a griddle, since one side will simply cook faster than the other.
After a year the nonstick surface has started pealing off of the grill plates. I have never used metal on the nonstick surface and have taken great care to preserve the finish. Perhaps it is in the design, but the now I will have to take care not to get pieces of the nonstick surface in my food. The plates don't stay attached in the top anymore either. It's very annoying trying to reposition a hot plate into place.
On the surface, the Griddler has the looks and design to be a great product. Cuisinart has some bugs to work out to attain even heating and plates that last. If I were to buy a new Panini press, I would not look to Cuisinart again.
PROS:
Heavy and sturdily construction
Heats up and cleans quickly
CONS:
Non-stick surface does not last

Cuisinart WAF-100 4-Slice Belgian Waffle Maker Review

(More customer reviews)I was skeptical about purchasing this waffle maker from other reviews online but I am glad I did. This is the best waffle maker!! I used a box of Krusteaz waffle mix and followed the directions on the box, set the waffle maker on 3, sprayed some PAM on the waffle maker, pour 1/2 cup of waffle batter in each slot and when it beeped I opened to find a big Belgian waffle slices cooked to perfection! There was no issue with spill overs, the color was a nice golden brown and it was fluffy, had a nice crisp but still soft, topped with fresh strawberries, syrup and whipped cream and we've got the best Belgian waffles right at home! It came right off the machine with no sticking or mess and the clean up was nothing as I only had to wipe it down with a paper towel after it cooled down. I absolutely love this waffle maker and would recommend to anyone. The unit did not get too hot to handle and the handle stayed nice and cool. It was so fun cooking up the waffles that before I knew it I went through a whole box! The great thing is you can make these ahead, freeze them and when you want a waffle just heat up in a toaster. No more frozen Eggo Waffles for me as I now have fresh homemade waffles right at my fingers anytime I feel like it. And the money I am saving because Eggo Waffles can get pretty expensive!

(More customer reviews)I saw this product on QVC and was intrigued by the possibilties. The model on QVC turned out to be only 1500 watts with less cooking real estate for the same $99.00 I paid on Amazon.
The package was delivered quicker than I had anticipated so no complaints from me. The box was intact and didn't look like it had been abused during shipping.
The Griddler was easy to assemble and as advertised most of the parts are dishwasher safe. After running the parts through the dishwasher, we used it for the first time this evening.
In the lower area, I placed 6 skewers of beef shish-ka-bobs and on the upper grill, grilled a steak. The shish-ka-bobs were cooked to perfection in about 20 minutes. The veggies were cooked but still had a little "crunch" while the meat was very tender and cooked to medium.
The grill imparts some attractive "grill" marks on the steak, and the steak was cooked evenly. Even though the steak had been rubbed down with some olive oil and other seasonings, there wasn't any smoke. The cooking task was completed in about 10 minutes for medium. Unfortunately meat grilled on an indoor electric grill doesn't taste the same as meat grilled on an outdoor gas grill. That's probably because the dripping meat juices can't be vaporized on an indoor grill like they are on an outdoor gas grill. Those vapors help flavor the meat further. I expected as much so I didn't take off any stars.
Give the Griddler ample time to cool down before attempting to clean. It is very easy to clean. As stated before most of the parts are dishwasher safe. The grill plate was particularly easy to rinse and wipe off before putting it into the dishwasher. Crusted cooking residue didn't stick and could be removed with your fingers under a litte running water.
Something everyone should be aware of is the Griddler puts out a lot of heat. It will get hot. Very hot. Families with kids need to understand that when the lower cooking area is being used, the upper cooking grill/griddle is just as hot. Keep young kids away and be careful that nothing gets placed on the upper cooking area (except food to be cooked) while the unit is in use. I used the Griddler on the stove where the kids know to stay away.
Overall this is an easy product to recommend. While I prefer the taste of meat grilled from a gas grill, the Griddler will work fine when outside temperatures and inclement weather dictate using the indoor grill. Finally this unit is not small and will take up some room if you're going to store it. But the Griddler is attractive enough to leave out and its functional enough that it should be used often.
UPDATE: We used the Griddler rather extensively over the weekend. Hotdogs were cooked on the lower level while the buns were toasted on the upper cooking area. The dogs were cooked perfect. Later we sauteed a large amount of onions and mushrooms on the griddle. Again the results were perfect, and we could lower the heat to keep the onions and shroons warm while other items were prepared. Cleanup was very easy and quick.

We were very satisfied with the toaster and thought we would give this grilling machine a try. I'm glad we did. This is a great little indoor grill when just cooking for one or two people. We have used it for hamburgers and hotdogs and have been very satisfied with the tasty results. Drains the fat but leaves the flavor! Clean up is a breeze. (More customer reviews)I feel like I am back on the streets of Paris every time I plug in my beautiful Cuisinart Panini and Sandwich Press. This press makes the best grilled cheese sandwich you ever ate, I guarantee it. I love how you can stick a whole hoagie roll or chunk of french bread loaf with sandwich makings inside into it and squish it into a hot & yummy hunk of cheese-oozong goodness. Or, you can use regular bread and make toasty club sandwiches or grilled cheese.
This guy hangs out in the cupboard and is easy to pull out, just plug in and wait for the green light to come on. You can have a quick french dip dinner ready in 5 minutes that everyone will love- also perfect for grilled cheese and tomato soup night- or just want to make some garlic bread to go with your spaghetti without heating up the whole oven? I LOVE my panini press.
It is really easy to clean- although I haven't tried grilling meats or anything beyond sandwiches and bread. Gooey cheese comes off easily and the whole thing wipes down quickly with a damp washcloth.
Elvis would have died over the peanut butter and banana sandwiches we make in this baby! The frying pan's got nothin' on our Panini Press.

(More customer reviews)This is, in my opinion, the best of the George Foreman grills.
It functions perfectly. The removable plates lock into place fairly well and do not slide around very much. It is incredibly easy to clean even without removing the plates.
The adjustable temperature and timers make cooking a lot easier when you don't have to guess at the actual temperature, like you do with so many of the other George Foreman grills.
It is sturdy, well built, and is designed to last. It fits easily onto a countertop, and I have had no problems with it whatsoever.
The one quibble I have is that the Bistro Grill does not actually shut off after it has been turned on for use, even if you press the power button again. You have to unplug it to get it to stop heating, and this is apparently by design according to the manual. This is counter-intuitive, and definitely not the way it should work. Pressing the power button should be a toggle. Press once, it turns on. Press a second time, it should turn *off*.
