Nonstick Dough Press and Dumpling Maker, 3.75" Diameter Review

(More customer reviews)When this dumpling maker was still in one piece I found it to be very versatile and used it to make everything from ravioli, to pot stickers, to pierogies, to empanadas. I thought it would be limited use device, but surprised myself by the number of uses I found for it. It also seals very well so provided you do not overstuff your dumplings they stay sealed nicely and look uniform.
That said, it is not tremendously durable. I typically take good care of my kitchen gadgets, but this still broke in the drawer. I would still recommend it as it works well when it is not broken and forms a good seal. However it is definitely necessary to treat it with care.

The circular area of this dumpling maker is 4 inches in diameter. Make dumplings in a snap. Instructions: Place circle of dough on dumpling maker. Using the enclosed brush, moisten edges with a beaten egg and water mixture. Place 1 tablespoon of desired filling in the center of dough. Close dumpling maker and press firmly to seal edges. You can either steam, fry, bake, or boil the dumplings.

Spaetzle Maker with Cup. Heavy Duty Stainless Steel with Cup Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered this heavy-duty Spaetzle Maker for use in a high volume German Restaurant kitchen. The maker itself is constructed well and feel like it will last a long time. However, it is awful at making Spaetzle, and pale in comparison to the makers on here for a tenth of the cost Norpro Stainless Steel Spaetzle Maker. The cup does not sit flush on the board with the holes in it, causing the spaetzle batter to get pushed around everywhere but through the holes. This causes a huge mess and makes this piece of kitchen equipment absolutely useless to us. Not at all recommended until the manufacturer improves their design.

(More customer reviews)I bought 2 of these gadgets as I make pocket pies for my farmer's market. The very first time I used them they broke! I used a homemade pie dough and they snapped by the hinges. I figured it would be more expensive to ship them back then just throw them away. One positive is that the teeth do seal the pies together terrific. I was so disappointed... They are made with a pretty cheap plastic. Wish I could find something that is sturdier. Beware...

AND if you have grandchildren it is a wonderful experience to share making anything with this little crimper.

Works great with rolled dough, pie crust, eggroll wrapper, and pizza dough -- pleats are visible and the pastry looks good! Works with biscuit dough or puff pastry to seal edges but doesn't hold the pleats. There are 4 presses so you can make all different sized popovers, pot stickers, hot pockets, etc. Loved the cost per unit! It is a great deal!
