I've wanted a juicer for a long time, but could never really justify the expense, knowing that I'd very likely quickly tire of the maintenance involved. When I saw this juicer for under $25, it seemed like the perfect opportunity.
When I opened the box, I was immediately impressed with the unit's solid construction. You can see right away that this isn't a plastic piece of junk that's going to break righ away.
With the unit's first use, I juiced: cabbage, kale, spinach, carrots, onions and peppers. The unit - while not as powerful as more expensive models, I'm sure - juiced up everything with no hesitation. I would describe the pulp to be damp, but not what I'd call really wet.
I dreaded the juicer clean-up process that I'd heard so much about. Disassembly of the unit is a breeze. There are basically three main parts to remove and it takes all of thirty-seconds. No problem.
If there's one thing I could change, it would be a better designed pulp-catcher that would allow a bag to be used. This is only a minor gripe and has in no way made me regret the purchase.
If you are a casual juicer, looking to get your feet wet without spending a ton of money, this would be a perfect choice. I'm still amazed that I got this for under $25 and I'd recommend it without hesitation.

FoodSaver V2440 Advanced Design Vacuum-Packaging System Review

I use this everyday. It's sooo much better than the previous Foodsaver. I love that it is hands-free - you put the bag in, lock it down, and vacuum! For someone with carpal tunnel or arthritis, this makes it much easier than the ones on which you have to press. I love the way you can interrupt the vacuum cycle and go right to sealing which avoids crushing delicate items. I love the way the bags are stored inside and the canister hose is stored on the back - easy to locate.
One problem I've read about with the Foodsaver is the canisters leaking. I've decided that most likely this is not really a leak. Whenever it seems like my canisters won't vacuum properly, I check the lights to see if they are cycling properly. If not, I first unplug the hose and then reinsert, switching the ends. I don't know if the switching is the thing that makes it work or I'm just making a better seal when I do this but it usually that takes care of the problem. If that doesn't work, I wipe the seal and the rim of the canister with a damp cloth to make sure nothing is on it that will interfere with the vacuum. I've not had a "leak" since.
Now that my husband and I are empty nesters, it's easy to waste money on food. Usually, we have to buy too much which ends up spoiling or in small portions which is too expensive. Now, we can buy family portions and vacuum the leftovers for later. I use this on lettuce (keeps it two weeks with no brown spots or wilting), bread, fresh fruit & vegetables, nuts, meat, leftovers, and more. It's well worth the money!

Pinzon 5-9-Inch Pasta Maker Review

Over the years, my mom has owned probably 10 different pasta makers and I've owned 3 additional pasta makers of my own. There's a couple of things that can really be frustrating: 1) If the handle falls out a lot. 2) If the clamp doesn't clamp the machine onto the table tight enough. and 3) If the noodle cutter doesn't cut well. Any of those three can make for a really frustrating experience.
The problem with this machine is #1: the handle falls out a lot. The machine is very lightweight and doesn't feel as if it's made that well and the thickness adjusting knob feels flimsy. But, you have to think about the price you're paying and so I understand that. It's reasonable quality for the price. BUT, the handle doesn't go in all the way on the roller (as far as it should). It only went in about half way on the roller part. And it went in far enough on the angel hair cutter, but not on the fettucine cutter. So, this pasta maker would be really frustrating--because the majority of your turning is the rolling part--making the dough thinner and thinner.
My recommendation is that if you're looking for a good pasta maker that won't frustrate you, then I think you'd be wise to choose a different one. I do know that sometimes there are quality control issues with things and perhaps mine is just defective. So, please read the other reviews to see what the general experience with this pasta maker is.

Clamp this pasta machine to your counter or table edge, choose a setting, and you're ready to turn out fresh homemade pasta. Crank by hand as you feed in your dough to make thin spaghetti or medium-width fettuccine noodles. Made of gleaming stainless steel, the machine's adjustable rollers can press your dough into long sheets (up to 5-1/2 inches wide) in a choice of nine thicknesses. You can then cut the sheets into squares for making ravioli, or longer sections for lasagna. After use, wipe the machine clean or run a damp paper towel or piece of felt through it. Remove the handle and clamp for compact storage. This machine measures approximately 6-1/4 inches high by 7-3/4 inches wide by 8 inches deep (without the handle and clamp). It\'s imported.
