I had purchased a washer/dryer from them in 2006 and it was sold to me with a full 2-year warranty (one of the reasons to choose it then). Now it is broken and they don't want to honor the warranty telling that they have no legal obligations to do so.

(More customer reviews)I had a very cheap washer that lasted for 5 years. When it broke down, rather than considering spending $50 just to have someone look at it, I decided to buy a new one.
I wanted a front-loading washer because they are gentler on clothes and use less water. However, after looking at some, I realized they were mostly pretty expensive.
I did a lot of research and Consumer Reports rated this washer as the best I could hope to get for the price. Finally after much shopping, I found a white one online and ordered it. I installed it myself in about 10 minutes and started washing.
We've now owned it for 4 or 5 months and I love it. It is very easy to run, very stable and operates flawlessly. I have washed all sorts of things in it and have never had a single problem. We have this in our kitchen-area right off the living room and, while it is a little bit noisy, it is much quieter than the other standard machine I had.
The one thing I've been a little trepidatious about is the detergent drawer which feels sort of cheaply made and ill-fitting. However, I've been careful with it and have learned how to use it and it really isn't that bad. Don't let that sway you from purchasing this machine. I really think you can't get anything better for your money. Even machines that cost over 2x didn't have the performance rating this one had.

(More customer reviews)This is Samsung's new line of high-end front-loading laundry machine. Other than the new Electrolux EWFLS70JIW 27 5.1 cu. Ft. Front-Load Washer - Island White, it has the largest capacity among consumer-oriented washers. Yet, its external dimension is similar to other front-loaders, thus fitting easily into standard laundry room space.
I bought this model to replace a 7-year-old Whirlpool : WFW9400SZ 27 Front Load Washer with 4.0 cu. ft. Capacity White/Sapphire Blue, which went kaput when the plastic ring holding the front side of the steel drum in place decayed away under normal usage. Understandably, I chose not to go with Whirlpool again, since many of the Duet's plastic parts have not lasted the 10-15 years I expected from a major appliance. I am not sure how well this Samsung will compare, but I feel it is worth a try even at a relatively high price because Consumer Reports likes this model.
Functionally, it is almost identical to the Duet. The major exceptions are:
1. A substantially larger capacity;
2. The ability to sense the load and adjust water usage automatically;
3. The availability of steam wash.
The first two features are very nice. The last one is questionable, as I consider high temperature a killer to most fabric, but steam seems the new trend in washers.
I bought it from BestBuy. The installers rushed through the job and failed to apply Teflon tape when connecting the hose, leading to a leak that ruined the wall, the hard-wood floor and the basement ceiling tiles. I should have supervised the installation personally. Nowadays, it is unwise to assume professionalism in people one does not know well.
The follow-up with BestBuy's customer service has been hellish. The corporate consumer relation people are nice and polite, but every time they try to hand me off to the local installation department I get a total disconnect, literally, as in being hanged up on. So, after more than a dozen phone calls and several hours on the phone, resolution is still in the air.

(More customer reviews)I should preface this by saying that I think all of these laundry pedestals are horribly overpriced. That said, here's my thoughts:
We picked a pair of these up for our 4 year old Maytag Neptune front loaders about a month ago. They are constructed of metal frames and are nice and sturdy. The drawer is made of a heavy-ish plastic material and feels pretty solid. We passed on getting the matching Neptune pedestals back in 2006 when we bought the Maytag's (and to think they were only $110 each back then!). My wife recently decided that it might be nice to have the washer and dryer sit higher so that she didn't have to bend down as much to get the laundry in/out (can't say I blame her). We lucked out and found these at Lowe's on sale for $49 each, so we just had to get them even though they were Bosch and not Maytag. My wife LOVES the new height of the washer/dryer now. I've heard from her several times now tell me that she's fallen back in love with her laundry. Since I was mounting these to a set of Maytag's, they were not "plug and play". What I ended up doing was to use a large section of cardboard and make a stencil of the existing mounting points on the bottom of the Maytag's and then transfer those locations over to the Bosch pedestals. Once I had the location of the new mounting holes marked, I drilled new holes into the top of the pedestals for the Maytag's to mount to. I was able to use the new washing machine mounting bolts that Bosch supplied but had to improvise and use sheet metal screws for the dryer. It's been about a month since these were installed and we have had no issues so far.

Maytag MAH2400AWW Energy Star 24'' Compact Front Load Washer with 22 Cycles - MA Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this washer 28 months ago and have had to replace the door twice since. The cheap plastic door frame is all that holds the door onto the metal hinges. We have no children in the house and there is no abuse to the door other than normal open/closing so over time the cheap plastic cracks around the top hinge (in my case) and there's nothing holding the door onto the hinge now so it hangs when you open it. Eventually the whole frame cracks and the door has to be replaced. It's costly and ridiculous that you have to throw an otherwise good door into the landfill every year. Disappointed with this product and should have done more research before buying it becasue there are many bad reviews online for this product. Do yourself a favor and look at another front load space saving washer before purchasing.

HAIER 1.8CF Combo Washer-Dryer White Review

OK, that might be a little overly dramatic, but now i just walk into the bathroom, throw my clothes in and have them come out super clean and (usually, mostly) dry, instead of lugging loads up and down several flights of stairs to find that someone else was already using the sketchy machines that stained and burned my clothes and ate my quarters.
The front loading washer gets clothes much cleaner than standard top loading agitator machines, like other HE machines, the wash cycles takes longer than standard top loaders.
The condensation dryer works surprisingly well, the '2 hour autodry' usually finishes in less than 2 hours and if the load is as small as they reccommend everything is dry. however, i tend to fill the machine with what it can hold to wash (for two adults and a 10 month old) and even then almost everything is dry, i just usually throw towels or jeans or anything else that's still wet back in for another cycle (15-30 mins usually) and they are dry too. To cut down on wrinkles I only use the 60 minute cycle and take the clothes out hot and steamy and line dry them for another 30min - hour or so. But the machine also has a touch up cycle so if something comes out really wrinkled you can just throw it back in for a few minutes by itself.
For me, being able to do small loads is a luxury i didn't have when i had to pay for every load in coin-op machines, and with a small child it is a necessity if you have any hope of removing stains before they set in. I have had to change my laundry habits, i do a load or two almost every day, or every other day, instead of waiting for everything i own to pile up for 3-4 weeks! and it's easy to do, because it's just right there in the bathroom and i don't need any quarters!
We ended up just unscrewing the tub spout and with a couple of connectors they helped us find at the hardware store we were able to screw the y connector directly onto the pipe coming out of the wall. I just turn on the hot or cold water before i start the machine. Since i wash so frequently we just leave the hoses connected, we really only use the shower anyways and have a handheld showerhead. We also drain into the bathtub with an old pantyhose tied around the outlet hose to catch all the lint, etc. so it doesn't clog the drain.
I can't say enough good things about this machine! I've only had it about 4 months though, hopefully it will hold up well.

(More customer reviews)When looking to replace my washing machine, I started out looking at the traditional top loaders. The cheap ones were around $300 and more standard quality ones around $400, and I saw some that were another $100 or more beyond that. When the salesman asked me about front load washers, I didn't give it much thought because they tend to be more pricey and out of my range. In fact, the first one he showed me was about $700. When I asked him what the cheaper ones cost, he showed me the Frigidaire FTF2140FS for $550, and seeing as they had $100 off deal, it was only slightly more than the standard top loader. So I took him up on the deal, ultimately paying $475 after tax, and so far I'm very happy with its performance.
I usually have two or three people who rent rooms in my house. The old washer took 40 gallons of water per load. The Frigidaire takes just 15 gallons! So right off the bat I'm going to be saving a lot on my water bill, as well as a few bucks on electricity as this washer takes less of that to operate, too.
The controls are pretty simple to figure out. Ten cycles, four temperature settings, you can set how fast you want the basket to spin, and there's a few extra options, too. Shut the door, hit start, and let it go. Just be sure to remember that you must use HE (High Efficiency) detergent.
The wash is very quiet and the spin dry sucks the water right out of the clothes. I can dry my stuff in half the time!
I did encounter one problem twice. When washing my bed sheets and blankets, I heard a beeping noise. The washer was stopped and I thought it was done, but it turns out my sheets were still soaked. I looked at the manual and apparently if the load in the washer basket becomes uneven, it won't spin (that's why it was beeping). So I just pushed the blankets a few times, shut the door, and on the cycle dial there's an option for Final Spin, which is just that, the final spin dry. So I selected that, hit start, and it worked both times. I haven't had that problem with any other load of laundry before or after that.
This was my first foray into the world of front load washers and so far I'm very pleased with the results! It's quiet, efficient, my clothes are clean and smell fresh, and most important of all to me, it isn't tearing my clothes like my old washer was. And for the price I got it at, it's a great value!

(More customer reviews)This combo unit is amazing!!! With a very small home, this is great for a small space having an all in one washer dryer unit. It does take a while longer than the traditional washer and dryer setup, however it is worth the extra time.
My favorite features:
Uses less water (12-14 gallons) versus the top load washer I just replaced.
Uses a 110v outlet, so now I can get rid of the bulky dryer vent and the 240V outlet for the dryer I just replaced.
Spins VERY quickly which makes cloths damp not wet like the top load washer we replaced.
When finished, the unit "sings" at you. It plays a cute little jingle!
Gets the cloths VERY clean.
My only negative:
Socks take a bit to dry.
It took us a while to find one, Home Depot ordered it for us.
When we move, I will definitley purchase another one or I will take this with me. I am so impressed by the quality and how nice it is to have it all wrapped into one unit. Its the same size as a regular front load washer.
