(More customer reviews)This is among the relatively cheap analog scales you can ever find online. Very handsome and neat. The color is white and the size is pretty compact.
Overall, the scale gives you similar results after you zero it right before your first use. Yet the spring inside is a little bit loose - it takes pretty long time for it to return to zero after you've stepped out of the surface, increasing the risk of the change of the initial reading from 0 to a few pounds more or less than it. In average, you have to rezero the scale every 7 or 8 readings...
Luckily, the adjusting device is handy and easy to control: the control is at the right hand side of the scale. Once you rezero it, the scale will give you more or less the same reading you got. Nice and useful scale for only $8!

(More customer reviews)I realize overall trends are more important than anything else, but, I'm pretty unhappy with just how much this scale varies. It can vary weighing yourself twice by up to 8 pounds! It's really hard to track trends when you dont know if the number you get it +/- 8 pounds at any given time.
I've owned it a couple years, and it's got other flaws - it chews through batteries of the expensive watch type, and i've had to open it several times to clean the circuit board inside with alcohol- it gets wet and when the water dries it reads Err or E untill I take it apart.

(More customer reviews)I just got this scale for myself as a Christmas present and I have nothing but good things to say about it.
Pros:
EASE OF USE - Inputting the user settings when you first get the scale takes less than 2 minutes. The interface is intuitive and the instructions included are complete and easy to understand.
PRECISION - You get nice and consistent readings for both body weight and body fat if you do repeat weighings right after another. Usually within 0.2 lbs and 0.1% body fat.
ACCURACY - There's a lot of debate over what the most accurate way to measure bodyfat is - calipers vs. electrical impedence etc. However, I think that it's more important to be able to track your improvement rather than being able to know exactly what your % bodyfat is. This scale allows you to do that. So you know that you've dropped 5% bodyfat and that you know roughly what it is. Unless you're a world class athlete, it's probably not necessary for you to have an exact value and if you are one of those few people, you probably have access to more advanced methods.
COST - At the present Amazon price, this is a great deal. About the price of a session with a trainer and only a few dollars more than a regular digital scale without the body fat feature.
CONS:
None that I can really think of right now. As I mentioned earlier, some people may be shocked/disappointed by the readings they get and dispute the accuracy of them. However, as I mentioned, the direction of your bodyfat change is more important and more valuable.

(More customer reviews)I have owned this scale for about a week. First of all, the manual is well written, simple, and accurate. Both my mother and I use the scale and have found it to be accurate as compared to our old analog scale. To be honest, our old scale gave varying readings of 1 and 2 pound differences with each repeated weighing at 1-minute intervals. The Taylor 7009 gave consistent readings under the same test everytime except once where the pound difference was up by 0.5.
The scale is relatively small, neat, and gorgeous with its black and silver finish. It has quite a slim profile, and it does feel solid and seems durable, but only time will tell if it is durable. The display is large and the numbers are very easy to read. On the topic of the display, it must be noted that the scale gives a reading within 3 to 4 seconds of standing on it, and it dutifully turns itself off after a few seconds. (I believe this is why the battery would be able to last a lifetime as the manufacturer promises).
It is very sensitive, so it is advisable that once you stand on it, remain as still as possible, because too much movement will result in an Error message on the display. This is easily resolved by stepping off and then on the scale again.
In short, this is a beautifully made scale which functions the way it should - accurately.

The scale is fairly easy to set up and will provide additional measurements for: % body fat; % water composition; % muscle composition and bone ratio. While these measurements have greater fluctuation and less accuracy than the weight measurement, they are useful as trend indicators. I run marathons and I find the % water composition to be very helpful and predictive of my hydration levels. The scale design is sleek and low to the floor surface. This is the best scale I've purchased.

(More customer reviews)Puchased this scale for my visually impaired grandparents, whose doctor asked that they monitor their weight daily. They're pleased at how precise the weight is, to the tenth of a pound, and that they don't have to ask anyone who happens to visit to read their scale for them. The voice is clear and loud enough, automatically turns on and shuts off, and batteries were included. There's even a setting for weighing in kilograms if you want to go metric. There was a statement in the directions about people with pacemakers using this product. I checked with my grandmother's heart doctor and he said there wouldn't be a problem considering where feet are in relation to the heart, the encasement of the pacemaker, and lenghth of exposure, but checking with your doctor would always be advisable in anyone's case.

(More customer reviews)I am a big guy (currently 403lbs) was 421 a few months ago and have been slowly going down each week, this scale is SO accurate, if I get on and off 4-5 times in a row down to the .2 its still solid, then when I go to the healthclub and use their $2000 professional scale it reads the same numbers as the home scale.
Again I am closer to the top limits of this scale (440 top weight) yet it feels solid and doesn't flex or feel "cheap" or like it is going to break or anything.
5 different user buttons along with each of those 5 inputs having the last weight viewable for reference and a large readout and stepon plate (I wear a 14 EEEEE shoe and have no problems) make this scale worth buying at any cost.

It is always within 1 lb of the doctor office or Weight Watchers. I have had mine for Probably 11 years, and 9 moves. It's durable!! I'm now in the market for a new one only because one of the feet came off and the kids threw it away, so without it being totally even, it's not as accurate. It has about a 3lb +/- now. But I've never owned a scale as great as this one, so with it we shall stay!!

(More customer reviews)I love this scale!! It is very accurate! I am glad I took the 5 star advice. As to the one star review listed above: The instruction manual states, that if it is moved, to weigh yourself once to reset it (disregarding the weight as it will be wrong), and then step back on it for the accurate weight. Also the manual tells you to stand still on the scale for an accurate reading. If you move around or shift on any scale digital or dial it will throw a scale off. It always helps to read the manual.
The scale is very accurate to my Drs office, and is never inconsistent more than two tenths of a pound which is minimal and expected. I am so happy I bought a new scale as my other one was quite inconsistent and was difficult to track my maintenance weight.

I've had this scale for about two weeks and have done a lot of experimenting with it. Some days it seems to give me perfectly consistent readings, varying only by 0.2 pounds in either direction. Other days, I can weigh myself six times and get six different answers covering a range of about a pound.
What I've found is that the scale is extremely sensitive to the countour of the floor beneath it. Because it uses only a single load cell, located near the geometric center of the underside of the scale, it makes a huge difference whether the floor beneath it is perfectly flat or not. An uneven floor can cause tipping, put more of your weight on one side than on the other, or give a low reading if the load cell itself happens to fall into a small "valley" between higher ridges that could support the outer edges of the scale.
If you use the scale on a carpeted floor, all bets are off! A hard, flat, bare floor works the best.
By moving the scale around to different places in my bathroom, I was finally able to get reasonable and consistent readings. Finding that exact same spot again every morning isn't always easy, though.
It also makes a difference where you stand on the scale, especially if your floors (like mine) are old and "bumpy".
So, yes, the scale itself is as accurate as the manufacturer claims. But no, you might not get that kind of accuracy from it if you don't have a flat enough floor to use it on.

1) Quality - There is a reason this product costs what it does....it's 7mm glass, so it is really flimsy & if you weigh over 120 lbs it feels like it is going to crack under your feet.
2) It has a very small display so it is hard to read the what the weight measurement is.
3) Accuracy - The weight measurements were not consistant. I really question how accurate this scale is.
The item "looks" good....until you get it home....
