My Mother and Her Sister's (all 7 of them) Owned One of These For Year and years and years...Comes with a 10 wear Warranty (Can't Beat That) but you'll never even need that, actually it should be a Life Time because that is how long these last, your lifetime, your kid's life time and theirs kid's lifetime too, maybe longer!
You Might End Up as we many of us do, considering it to be a Family Heirloom.
I grew up with the Palmer's. They are definitely made to last, for a "just in case",they come with a 10 year guarantee. They don't have the non stick coating but a Pizzelle Make doesn't need to be non stick,a pizzelle is made with so much butter I really doubt if they'd stick to any maker. So actaully this maker is more like the cast iron skillet of Pizzelle Makers.
The Palmer's are more $$ but in terms of wear and quality made well worth it.
I can vouch for that because I used to live not to far (1/2 mile) from where they are made. They are just a small Italian family owned machine/metal shop set up in RD West Newton,PA USA and all their products are made by hand with pride and not mass produced in China or where ever.
I received a Villawear as a gift and don't know much about the company but I do know that it broke after having it for 3 years and that's it..the warranty is for 1 year.
I'm going back to the Palmers seeing that this will make the 3rd Pizzelle maker I've had in the last 5 years.
My Mom's Palmer was still in working condition when she passed and it was the only one she ever owned in her 50 years of marriage. My sister has it now and it's still making the best Pizzelles ever. One of my Cousin's have their Mom's too. They seriously do become family Heirlooms in a Pizzelle Family, making the extra $15 more than worth it!
I am finally ready to buy my Family heirloom!
I am usually very price conscience, but in this case, and having gone through a few others The extra $15 I pay will be worth it because I know (1) you get what you pay for and in this case it's really true (2) it's more like inversting into a Family Heirloom and that one day one of my Girls or all 4 of them or maybe my Grand Daughter will be making Pizzelles or Cannoli with it well after I'm gone! (3) it's one of those things you live on through...truthfully the Palmer's will be there to bring my spirit back through the Palmer Pizzelle maker and my Love for Family & making Pizzelles at every Holiday and Wedding down the Line!
I'm going to go with the one that makes 3 at a time, not sure if it will be this one or the 3 round ones! But whichever one we decide to go with.....
Happy Pizzelle Making and May you Live on (through your Palmer's or whichever Pizzelle Make you Choose) down through the generations too!
I am not related to the Palmer Family

Despite the previous review I love this item. It makes crispy waffles with nice deep wells for syrup. It's pizzelle plate is perfect. In 100 seconds you can pop off a soft pizzelle, and either lay it on a rack to harden or drape over a custard cup for a shaped one. Recipe is tasty and easy to vary. Only needs one change in the recipe book--tell people that these cookies harden after they're baked--within 10 seconds actually. Everyone love the results with this cooker.

The other reviews are correct, but no one warns you that these are not the normal 5" pizzelles as Amazon implies with it's "doubles as ice cream cones" bullet. These are 3" circles that are really too small for anything except tiny snacks. Curled into bowls they hold a bit over an ounce (30cc) so whatever dessert you make it'll be tiny. On the other hand they taste great and if you put a very small scoop of ice cream, 2 or three red raspberries (3 black raspberries wouldn't fit) and a bit of your favorite sauce, you've got a great thing. It would take at least 3-4 to satisfy the average guy, though. Unless there's some reason you want tiny, I'd go with the 5" pizzelles.

Plug in your iron, put on your apron & some italian music, mix up your batter (with some anise oil) and get ready to experience an Italian Christmas. This iron is just like the one your (or your friend's) Italian grandmother has been using since the 50's. It works year after year, and you do not need the teflon coating - this is the one to buy. My friend has both the original (like this one) and the teflon coated one. She makes hundreds of pizzelles every Christmas. She much prefers this one.
This year I mixed up a gluten free version of the pizzelle batter and it worked perfectly. I'm sold on this iron. I believe it will last forever!
BTW - the irons from the early 50's had a typed note in them with 10 lines of instructions. The first line was to read all the instructions. The second was to not loan this iron to anyone!

I love this pizzelle iron - it's fast, clean, and helps me make one mean pizzelle! I bought this for my husband for Valentine's Day (and yes, I did make the pizzelles for him - his favorite dessert!) and he's been asking for more pizzelles ever since! Another plus - the pizzelle sizes are big enough to make one scoop ice cream bowls - perfect for people like me who don't like a huge serving of dessert all at once (but who won't turn down a second serving if it was around..!) I would definitely buy this again!

CucinaPro 220-03 Piccolo Pizzelle Baker Review

CucinaPro 220-03 Piccolo Pizzelle Baker

(More customer reviews)
This past holiday season, I searched everywhere for a pizzelle maker that made smaller pizzelles, and I finally found this one -- exactly what I wanted. It makes four 3" cookies per batch rather than the one or two larger 5" pizzelles made by the most common makers. Despite this, the dimensions are still small enough (the iron is 6" deep x10" wide, with an additional 4 inches or so for the handle) to store easily when not in use. The nonstick surface needs to be sprayed or brushed with high temperature oil once per session, and the pizzelles never stick.
Operation is simple: you place one-inch balls or a couple of teaspoons of dough, depending on the recipe, in the center of each mold, then close the lid, locking it in place with the metal clip attached to the top handle. Although the instructions estimate approximately 40-50 seconds of cooking per batch, I found that it took a couple of minutes to get mine to the right doneness, but, of course, that may be recipe specific. It does take some experimentation to get the dough placed just right to get centered pizzelles, something that I never found a problem with a bigger pizzelle maker that I used years ago. Even off-center pizzelles cook perfectly -- they just don't look as nice. It took me an entire batch to get comfortable, so, if you're planning to make these for an occasion, make sure you allow yourself enough time to practice. The instructions recommend placing the dough just behind the center, but I found that to be horrible advice. Put the balls in the center of each impression, and adjust from there. I had no problem with unevenly cooked or burned cookies, nor did I find that I had to work exceptionally fast.
The pizzelle maker comes with a small, wooden cone shaper. The size of both the cone and the pizzelles makes for tiny waffle cones, something that would be cute as toppers for a bowl of ice cream or for sampling a few flavors, but not very practical for most people. For real waffle cones, I use my machine specifically for that purpose.
This maker makes wonderful pizzelles and stroopwafels in a manageable size. I highly recommend it!

We picked this pizzelle press up at the local gourmet shop after hours of looking online, and a cookie party deadline looming. I wanted the villaware 5000, but the place didn't carry it. I got the Cucina instead. It is a beautiful machine - heavy, blinding chrome finish, very nice. AND it had the most beautiful flower pattern/waffle weave. I was very happy. I also notice that Amazon has it for $10 less than I paid. It is extremely non stick. I used pam - let it really heat up - plug it in while you make the batter - and the cookies literally slide right off of the press. It's amazing. I timed the clean up, too. It was less than 90 seconds to toss all the stuff into one big bowl in the sink, fill with hot water & dawn, and microfiber damp cloth the press (after it was cool) and wash the spoons and the bowl. You do need a cookie rack to transfer the very hot cookies to. Also, keep the machine closed, to retain heat - as you slide off one set of cookies, before you add the new batter for the next batch. We will have this machine forever, it is one of those cool things that will get handed down, like my grandmother's electric waffle iron. HTH, Ciao!

I bought this for my 23 year old daughter as a Christmas gift. This is a great kitchen appliance if you want to make pizelles. The recipe we used from the enclosed pamphlet was authentic to our Italian heritage. The pizelles were the proper size -- not the small medallion size some irons make. Highly recommended product.

Chef's Choice 838 Waffle Cone Express Ice Cream Cone Maker Review

Chef's Choice 838 Waffle Cone Express Ice Cream Cone Maker

(More customer reviews)
I recently bought a really great ice cream machine and I happened to be browsing the internet and I saw this waffle cone maker. At first, I thought, "O.K., not another gadget!" but after reading several descriptions of the machine I decided to buy it. Thank God for going with my first mind!! This machine is incredible. After reading the brief instructions, I mixed up my batch of waffle cone mix (Chef's Choice) and set out on my adventure. Spraying a small amount of olive oil onto the heating pads (I always spray oil for the first time of each use) I poured my first coaster-sized amount of mix onto the machine; closed the lid and waited for the appropriate time to elapse. After opening the lid, out came this good smelling circular cone. Immediately, I lifted the cone using a rubber spatula; used the cone roller as indicated and Viola!! A great cone!! Not to mention the wonderful smell permeating my house!!
It took me two tries to get the right amount of mix to make the perfect cone. I had some of the mix slide out the sides of the machine...no problem, just wipe it off. When making your cone fold a small amount at the bottom before you begin rolling the cone; or pinch the bottom of the cone when rolling so that your ice cream will not come out at the end; or put some melted chocolate, butterscotch or caramel at the bottom and let it get hard...a tasty plug!!
The only thing I can think of that would make this one package complete is if the company would supply a rubber spatula, the towel (they mention using) or perhaps a pair of cotton gloves to help roll the cone...it is hot!! However, I really use just my hands. I get a better feel of the roller this way. And, please do not let these couple of items dissuade you from purchasing this machine. That would be terrible. We should all, hopefully, have a rubber spatula and towels!!
Cleaning the machine is a breeze. The non-stick heating pads are greatly appreciated.
I highly recommend this machine. What a great addition to any household that loves ice cream!!
Be Blessed!!

This is exactly what I was looking for. It works great and I was making perfect pizzelles in no time at all. I pulled it out of the box, mixed up some batter with the including instruction book and I had pizzelles! They tasted great! The iron heated up quickly and held the temperature constant throughout. The instruction book has recipes for regular vanilla pizzelles and anise ones as well as a chocolate version and another fancier one. I only tried the basic one so far because that what we like but the recipe is easy to follow. I just dumped all the ingredients together and a baking I was. This product was everything I expected and more. You can only make 2 at a time but they go so quickly I had dozens made in no time at all. I was worried when I bought this since it was the cheapest one Amazon had but I didn't want to spend the extra money and I'm glad I didn't. This is a really great product and I can't think of anything I didn't like about it.

Despite the delicate and intricately stamped appearance of pizzelle cookies they are deceptively easy to make. Simply deposit a scoopsworth of batter on the heated plate, close the lid, and a minute later you have a picture perfect pizzelle. The warm cookie can be wrapped around a dowel like a canoli or molded over an inverted custard cup to make a bowl. And of course you can let them harden in a flat position too, to enjoy as is or drizzled with syrup or for use as a giant sandwich cookie.

The Chef's Choice Pizzelle Pro Express Bake is fast, and very easy to use and clean. The measuring spoon and ready light take the guess work out of making perfect three cookies at a time. The thickness of each cookie is consistent, because of the fastener clip. I have used two other manufacturer pizzelle grills and found the Chef's Choice is far superior and reasonably priced.

Roll them into cones or cylinders, shape them into baskets or stack them like a sandwich, pizzelles are not only delicious, they're versatile. This delicate cookie has its roots in ancient Italy where they were made for only important celebrations. In the middle ages the pizzelle irons frequently bore the crest of a noble family, or a regional design. The variations you can devise with a seemingly endless array of possible fillings, keeps the pizzelle maker from gathering dust in appliance Purgatory.
