(More customer reviews)I am VERY picky when it comes to coffee makers and have trouble finding one that doesn't make the coffee taste like plastic. This one works fine for me. I owned a DeLonghi before this one for about 6 years and the new DeLonghis have suffered a setback in quality as far as I am concerned. I returned about 3 of them. The minor flaw in this coffee maker is that the water gauge is on the inside and it is a little hard to tell what the level is. It is also a little tricky to pour water into. That wasn't enough for me to return it though, since the coffee tasted great!

It cleans fast, unlike my Oster, and it is powerful considering its size. I use it daily, it has a small footprint on the counter, and it blends what you need for one person in the serving cup. I also use the serving cups and lids even when I haven't used the blender. They are very convenient tumblers.

(More customer reviews)I have an elaborate smoothie recipe using wheat germ; flaxseed meal; peanut butter; yogurt; tofu; 2 C frozen fruits, to name a few ingredients. Instructions with this for smoothie recipes in their book helped guide me on how to make a thicker smoothie. This machine did a great job with the challenging recipe I have. I made the smoothie more than once a week usually, sometimes three times or more. This machine did great. I wore it out in almost a year. The motor started smelling when I used it. I tried the pour spout on the front once - didn't like it. The pour spout of the jar could be better (different shape, maybe more pointed) in that my smoothie wanted to pour wide out of it so it was easy to miss the drinking vessel. The biggest con was cleaning and reassembling. The pour spout cap had to be removed to clean the threads. The blade assembly and ring had to be removed and cleaned all over. I had to put water in it before use to check for leaks once it was reassembled, and I often had to loosen and tighten a few times before it wouldn't leak water after being cleaned and reassembled. Dealing with the leaking was a hassle.

(More customer reviews)I recieved this item as a gift from my neighbors. It was a true gift because I would not have purchased something like this for myself. I eventually found many uses for this little electric grill. As mentioned in the editorial review above, this grill is useful for batter based foods as well as for making sandwiches. Because we prefer hot cake, I have found it very useful for making small snack cakes. Using a standard cake mix with ordinary preparation, the bottom half of the griddle can be filled with batter. The batter will expand to fill the top as it cooks. The additional batter can be refrigerated for use the next day. The same is true of corn bread, pancake mix, browny mix, etc. The best part is the fact that the cakes will cook in just a few minutes. Pre-heating takes only 3-5 mins, and cooking about 4-8 depending on what you are working with, considerable less than the time to bake in a full size oven. This unit is also a welcome addition to the arsenal when battling toddler pickyness. Small portions of various items can be quickly prepared with out heating a full size oven. The way that it seals the bread at the seems when making sandwiches makes it useful for making healthy homemade "hot pockets" for lunches, as you control the ingredients and leave the preservatives at the store. Cresent roll dough can be stretched, doubled-over and filled. Although they are somewhat atypically shaped you get perfect omlets every time, without flipping. Simply chop/shread cheese or vegies add to scrambled eggs and fill the bottom. Although this grill has an easy to clean non-stick surface, I found it useful to wipe with an oiled cloth prior to cooking, PAM or a similar product would also work well. The effort I save putting together quick healthy lunches and snacks using this device, I have transfered to planning and preparing more elaborate meals in the evening, or entertaining.

(More customer reviews)For 20 years(?) or so, I have used this product every year around Christmas to make about 10-20 dozen cookies. I've never used any other cookie shooter gun so I can't compare it to others, but I will say I've never had a reason to use any other. I usually screw up the first 5 cookie press attempts until I get into the rhythm of it and then it works great. The motor has lasted a long time!! I started using it when I was a teenager and that was quite a while ago. I wouldn't advise putting the cylinders in the dishwasher as they may discolor but I have put the discs and screw mechanism (part that winds the dough through the tube)into the DW with no problems. The recipe book has a Super Spritz recipe that works great. Results vary with the type of cookie sheet you use but I use a light color sheet and eye up the timing.
It will be a sad day when I need to replace it.

In 100 seconds you can pop off a soft pizzelle, and either lay it on a rack to harden or drape over a custard cup for a shaped one. Recipe is tasty and easy to vary. Only needs one change in the recipe book--tell people that these cookies harden after they're baked--within 10 seconds actually. Everyone love the results with this cooker.

We unknowingly bought the fake ones from Kitchen Resources sold by Kitchen Krafts Inc. and they broke after their first use. It took Kitchen Resources a month and a half to replace them. These are not the real thing. Make sure that they are Bosch products. I would not buy from Kitchen Krafts Inc. if I were you because they are misleading. These are a waste of money and time.

Bosch Universal Plus Meat Grinder Review

(More customer reviews)I have had a meat grinder for my Bosch mixer for more than 20 years and use it though out the year. My husband hunts, so we cut up meat most every fall and the meat grinder really makes hamburger fast. I use a cheap beef roast to grind with the venison or elk and make 20-50 pounds of burger to freeze. The grinder is worth its weight in gold to me, we would not make burger without it (I used a hand grinder before purchasing the Bosch). Watch the disks as they will rust if not washed and dried and be sure to wash every nook and cranny as they will collect meat. I also, have the sausage stuffer, its tricky to use, but its fun to eat your own sausages. My grinder cost less than this, but if you are serious about grinder your own burger and sausage, you should consider this meat grinder.

KitchenAid KPRA Stand Mixer Attachment, Pasta Roller Review

(More customer reviews)I ran one ball of dough through the machine and I was done. No metal shavings, no grease, no discolored parts. I have only had my machine for 5 years now. Many of the reviews citing problems with this device are older than that, so perhaps the manufacturer listened to the complaints of those who purchased their machines longer ago and who had problems. A success story for quality control and buyer feedback??
A couple of tips. I thought that a low speed setting for the mixer would be most appropriate. Bad idea. I find that the best speed settings for the roller and slicing attachments are 3 or 4. If you go slower, you get a less regular texture. Too much quicker and the dough tears.
Not documented in the booklet that comes with the device is that you can widen the rollers a bit extra if you go clockwise a bit past 1. This is where I start my rolling. I usually put the ball of dough through this setting 2-3 times, folding it in half before each re-roll.
I then narrow the rollers 2 notches for each subsequent rolling until the desired thickness is achieved. I use the following settings for different types of pasta:
Ravioli - 4
Linguini - 6
Fetuccini - 5
'Broken Noodles' - 5
You can go thinner for things like angel hair pasta, but I usually prefer heartier pastas which Tuscan-inspired sauces.
Take note - if you are making pasta for a group larger than 3-4, or are otherwise not planning on taking it directly from the roller to boiling water, you will need a good pasta rack/dryer unless you have acres of counter space. If you attempt to accumulate your pasta in a 'pile' before cooking, you get a big blob of pasta-ish dough and you will need to completely re-roll it. Laying the pasta in a flat, single layer, is an option but I do not have that much counter space. I therefore use a pasta dryer to hang the pasta for a few minutes to a couple of hours until I am ready to boil it.
Updated June 3, 2009 - We have been using this now for just shy of 5 years and it still works very well. The device has been easy to maintain, there has been no build up of gunk even though you cannot wash it in soap and water, and the rollers are still spinning evenly despite semi-regular use.
Updated June 2010 - Still going strong!

Over Easy Pancake Express Review

I make pancakes with my skillet but sometimes I would burn them and because of the walls on the skillet flipping was always a dicey thing. There were other problems as well. I suppose If I just practice I would get better but why develop skill when an cool gadget can do it for you!
Description - Fairly small clamshell unit. It has a base of sorts in the back that fits flat on your counter. To use insert batter, let cook the right amount of time. Close the clamshell and rotate unit 180 degrees. Open and pour fresh batter in on one side while the cakes finish on the other. One side has concave dimples in it while the other side had convex.
Well here is the good and the bad
The Good-
Size - The unit is flat and compact. Small enough to fit on the side of a pan drawer without taking up extra space
Works as advertized - You can make 2 pancakes up to 5 inches in diameter at a time. Seems to take about 5 minutes per set. The unit comes with a scoop for batter. DO NOT OVERFILL or its a mess. You measure the amount of batter into the concave side and wait until the middle is almost done with the big bubbles. this is important because if you close and flip too soon its a sticky mess. The pancakes look very pretty, a nice toasty brown with no dark spots. There seems to be some uneven heating (some parts are browner than others) but it tastes fine.
The Bad - The power cord is too short, maybe 2 feet? Has to be very near an outlet which may not be convenient on in your kitchen.
Slow - Pancake Unit yes, factory no. Not the best choice for mass production (especially with hungry children waiting and arguing over who gets the first cake). Not appreciably faster than the old skillet method. I think a large electric griddle would be a better choice for mass production (no lip, up to 6 small cakes going at once).
Cleaning - Cleaning is a bit unearving, electric parts getting wet. Also the base has a bad habit about getting water trapped in it.
Conclusion - I give it 3 stars, an average functional product in need of improvement. it does what it is supposed to and does it well which is better than many things I have bought. It has room for improvement. Takes a little practice to get used to (which was not what I was expecting) as different batters expand differently. Thus the perfect amount of one batter could be overflow point for another. If you want something small and compact to be different and the prospect of flippin flapjacks is just beyond you then this is the way to go. Otherwise try an electric griddle. Its more functional.

The juicer was ok, but the shredder shot my cabbage across the counter, til I found a really big bowl (it's a 2 man job in the infomercial). The third time I used the Bullet, I tried making some dough. The motor overheated after about a minute, then smoke poured out of the machine. I scraped out the dough and used my KitchenAid to finish the job (easily I might add). Fortunately the motor worked again after it cooled down. Check other sites you'll find this and other worse issues to be common problems - including poor customer service. Save your money. This product is not as advertised.
