Mr. Coffee VB13 12-Cup Switch Coffeemaker, Black Review

I love the turn on and off switch without the bells and whistles. I also have hard water, but we use distilled/purified or spring bottled water in the maker - so their is not the build up of lime in the structure. Easy to clean with vinegar. Simple model, we keep it unplugged after it's done to prevent it from overheating (if in case it ever did) - then it lasts a bit longer. Of course we find the 12 cup only equates to about 4 of our mug sizes - but then, it's good for it's size.

Aerobie AeroPress Coffee and Espresso - w/zippered nylon tote bag Review

Aerobie AeroPress Coffee and Espresso - w/zippered nylon tote bag

I am very picky about my coffee. I only like espressos I get at restaurants and coffee shops about half the time. If you use a standard meat thermometer to ensure the water is between 175 and 185 degrees F the result is truly outstanding. It makes great espresso as well as coffee. You can easily control the acidity by using hotter water. I have owned espresso machines ranging from $100 to $300 and this little unit beats them hands down. Fantastic product!

Kyocera Ceramic Coffee Grinder Review

Kyocera Ceramic Coffee Grinder
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Grinds well.
Because it's a manual burr grinder, you can easily set the size of your coffee grounds, from coarse to fine (though, I haven't tried grinding it to fine since I use coarse grounds for my French press). The grounded coarse coffee were fairly even, too.
Good design.
The hopper where you drop in the coffee beans nicely feeds the beans (using gravity) into the grinding mechanism and from there into the glass jar. The hopper (with the grinding mechanism) can then be washed separately and the glass jar comes with a convenient lid for storing.
Good torque.
The grinding handle is easy to turn, albeit the area where you hold down the grinder to keep it steady is a bit too large for my small hands. Still, it's not so tough to turn that you're using too much effort in the morning, especially when you're too sleepy! So, I wouldn't count manually grinding coffee as a workout :(
Easy to clean.
The grinder disassembles easily which means you can really clean all parts in a few minutes and have a "fresh" and oil-free one the next day. I use a plain toothbrush to get the burr grinder squeaky clean. I suggest patting it dry and then letting the ceramic burr grinder air dry.
Nice compact product.
Unlike some electric grinders, this can be easily stowed away and used anywhere (i.e., camping). It came with the hopper with the grinding mechanism, the glass jar with removable outer rubber base, a measuring spoon (which is small enough that it can be stored inside the glass jar) and a plastic lid that screws unto the glass jar for storing your coffee grinds.

A great multi-purpose tool, this grinder prepares fresh coffee, salt, pepper, green tea, and even sesame seeds. It is designed with a ceramic grinding mechanism that will never alter the flavor of the grinds, resulting in fresh, flavorful, and pure ingredients. The special ceramic is an advanced ceramic close in hardness to diamond, so it will never rust and will provide a long useful life. The grinder is adjustable from fine to coarse, and the non-slip base ensures stability. The reusable glass container can store up to 100 grams of coffee grinds and is dishwasher safe. Other parts need cleaning with a neutral detergent and soft sponge.

Little Snowie (Home Use Ice Shaver) Review

Little Snowie (Home Use Ice Shaver)
Average Reviews:

The little Snowie shave ice machine is great and easy to use, One of the best features is that it uses regular ice cubes and not a chunck of ice made in a mold, so you always have ice ready to go any time you want to use it. We have used ours almost everyday since we recieved it. The only problem I have with it, is if you don't hold the cup just right some ice blows out around the top of it and onto your hand but after a few times you learn how to minamize this.

Deluxe Breadmaker (TR555LC) Review

Deluxe Breadmaker (TR555LC)
Average Reviews:

1. It is easy to use. it does most of the work for you. The main thing is, follow the directions. Use exact amounts, IE measure with the correct containers, and you can't go wrong.
2.The bread comes out great. No chemicals or preservatives. Super home-made healthy taste you will notice. But note this: the bread is often not as sweet as store bread. It tastes a little different, so don't expect the exact same taste as you get in the store. Whether you like the bread or not is a matter of taste. The bread it makes is healthy and a little less sweet and more fresh.
3.the biggest loaf I reccomend it 1.5 lbs and not 2lbs despite the machine's advertised ability. I have not yet tried a 2lb loaf, but, the 1.5 lb loaf just about fills up the pan. Some jam recipes from sources other than this model's booklet can overflow the pan. Stick to 1.5 lb recipes as a max. The jam it makes is the "best jam I ever had".
4. cleaning takes 20 seconds.
5. saves money and prevents rip-offs.
6. Read the entire manual BEFORE you make any bread.
7.Takes some 3 hours to make a loaf.
8.Fresh bread with no chemicals, like the bread this machine makes, only stays good for about 3 days. Past that it will get stale. The breads with more starch (like whole wheat) will get stale faster as the starch crystallizes. A plastic bag tied off works better than a breadbox in staleness prevention.
So if you want healthy fresh bread, buy this beaut and you can't go wrong.

Saeco S-TRP-ST Talea Ring Plus Super Automatic Espresso Machine Review

Saeco S-TRP-ST Talea Ring Plus Super Automatic Espresso Machine
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I owned a Jura Impressa S90 for 6 years at a daily rate of 8 espressos . No problems , I sold it to upgrade it for a professional like machine.. Bad decision, The Talea Ring Plus has a beautiful design and is relatively small for a full automatic, but...
After 4 months it was leaking (faulty 0 rings ), it wastes more water that it goes into the coffee, it is very high maintenance to clean (new filter every 2 weeks, cleaning tablet every 3 weeks, descaling twice in 3 months), but most important if you have a problem forget about Saeco customer service:rude, incompetent and they don't return emails or calls, so you better have a good relationship with your retailer to enlist their help. After the repair of my NEW machine, Saeco lost my original box and protective pads, they scratched the led display and plate and the serial number sticker was missiing...
After 8 single coffees you must empty the grounds and the drip tray! the container is flooded with water.
What about the coffee? Just OK , not any better that one could get with a machine one third of the price.
If you are thinking superautomatic forget Saeco( at least this model)

Hamilton Beach 54615 Wavestation Express Dispensing Blender with 48-Ounce Jar, Black Review

I purchased this blender about a year ago from Wal-Mart. I've had a number of blenders over the past 30+ years but always ended up giving them away because I seldom if ever used them -- too much bother -- and have this thing about getting rid of unused stuff but finding yet another excuse why I "need" to buy another blender. I got it strictly for smoothies. My sister convinced me they were good for me, but I wasn't about to pay $3-4 a pop for one smoothie. I was going to do all the research but saw this blender in Wal-Mart and just liked how it looked and really liked the price, around $18 at the time. I thought the spout thingee was neat, but I was really blown away by the 500 watts on this thing. I figured how bad could it be with 500 watts. If it blew out after recouping the price of 4-5 smoothies, it would be a fair tradeoff in my view. I'm not a technical person but after comparing the wattage of this one with the others on display, I thought what have I got to lose?
It's plastic, very lightweight and easy to move around. That works for me. Soooo easy to clean and disassemble when doing a thorough clean. Immediately after use I rinse it, fill it less than half full with hot water and a drop of liquid detergent, hold the lid down and give it a couple of whirls on pulse. Take it off and shake it around to get the top clean, then rinse again and make sure I open the spout to let it drain. If you don't clean it right away, you'll have to scrub it clean. You can disengage the spout, replacing it with the screw cap at the bottom of base, if you don't want to use the spout. My smoothies are so thick now I just pour it out.
The first few times I used it, I smelled burning rubber but I do push this thing as far as filling it with ice and whatever else I want and doing it as quickly as I can, using the setting that gives me the quickest results, be that pulse or smoothie or whatever. Again, I like this blender so much I figure I'll replace it with the same if I blow it and it's not under warranty. So far, so good. (It's a 3-year warranty.)
No more burning rubber even though I still fill it with ice and a mixture of everything. I'm reading "Green for Life" so I've added greens, celery, carrots and other vegetables, chia seed gel, flax seed, a little honey, etc., to my juice and fruit mixtures, both frozen banana and other fresh and frozen fruit, all of these things at the same time. DELICIOUS! My husband didn't like the vegetables added at first but now he really looks forward to them, which is just about every day or every other day now. The blender works like a charm. It doesn't pulverize the greens (spinach or romaine lettuce)100%. There's a small amount of greens that doesn't get chopped up - but very minute bits that aren't that noticeable and not worth the price for a higher-priced, "better" blender, as none of them get 5-star reviews anyway and mine works well enough to suit my needs. No problem whatsoever with ice. It has only bogged down on me once, but I just turned it off and nudged it around with wooden spoon and it's been good to go. Now, if I can remember, I put the ice cubes in after the juice, which is first. Sometimes I put them in last.
I'm not that easy to please, but I'm very satisfied with this blender. It's still a pleasure to use. I'm sending one to my son for his bday.

Brother XL2230 31-Stitch Function Free-Arm Sewing Machine with 11 Built-In Stitches Review

Brother XL2230 31-Stitch Function Free-Arm Sewing Machine with 11 Built-In Stitches
Average Reviews:

We ordered 7 of these machines for our school sewing class, and each machine is in use approximately 1-2 hours per week. Upon receipt, one of the machines would not work, and we received a replacement. We have now been using the machines for about 6 weeks, and have consistently had problems with the bobbin casing dislocating and causing the needle to jam or break. The sewing instructor, who has extensive sewing experience, used the word temperamental to describe them and said that they are a nightmare for the frustrated students attempting to learn to sew. They were reasonably priced, but I guess you get what you pay for.
